I will reveal you I know who you really are . And just after midnight , when it feels like its getting late - I will reveal you . The other day at work some fellow was going "nutso" on his lady because he found out she had had sexual intercourse with 12 dudes before they became "exclusive" . Apparently this was too many for him to be comfortable with . For him with which to be comfortable ? At once point he said something crude and graceless about her "fucking FIFTEEN guys" and she responded "First of all it was TWELVE not fifteen , don't exaggerate . . ." which I found very interesting . Do you think she's like me and she demands everything be EXACTLY accurate even when it doesn't matter or do you think in her mind there's a significant difference ? Such as if she had had sex with 15 dudes she would have agreed that was too many , but since it was only 12 that wasn't something he should be getting upset about ? And where's this guy's line anyway ? We're talking about small numbers here , if he sets his limit at 7 does that mean he would NEVER be with a woman who's humped 8 guys no matter how much her liked her ? And if 8 is okay why not 9 ? And so forth . Also who the fuck cares ? What is this the Dark Ages ? I mean sure if your partner says "Oh hey , I've had sex with 712 other people" you might say "hey you should get tested before we cram any body parts into each other" but beyond that if you like the person what does it matter ? You're a dummy guy who was flipping out at work and airing your dirty laundry in front of everyone . And your TPS reports are always late .  Anyway after this guy was done embarrassing himself and his lady the subject amongst the peanut gallery turned of course to how many people it was "okay" to have sex with and someone said the thing that someone always says that as a fake Statistics major drives me "nutso" - that the average number of people sexed up is the same for men and women so men always exaggerate and women always under-report because the men's number is usually higher . NOW I am not saying that its not true that men and women both lie in opposite directions but that's not how averages works ! People use averages wrong all the time and it makes me want to hit them . Such as , lets say that one mega-slut has sex with every dude in the world - lets call her Shelly for personal reasons . The average for every man goes up by one . The average for every woman goes up by one also (presuming there's roughly the same amount of men and women in the world) BUT that doesn't change the fact that the ACTUAL number for basically every woman in the world didn't move . So yes , while a dude may be lying if he has he's banged a hundred<b> chicks </font></b>and a chick may be lying if she says she's only banged one dude (and it was very awkward most of what he did he did to himself) you CAN NOT say they're lying because the average for both men and women should be the same . Assuming there's congruous numbers of men and woman have boring hetero sex only . This is ALSO why another argument that annoys me is wrong - that women have just as hard a time as men at getting laid . I'm not saying that's not true , I don't know , but I AM saying that you can't "prove" it by saying that every time a woman gets laid a dude gets laid too so the numbers are always the same . An average reports central tendencies only , it is not a robust statistic - quit acting like it is ! Now . Also I got to wondering how many mega-sluts it would take to service all the men in the world in a year . Lets say there's 3 billion dudes . That means about 8 million dudes need to be getting laid a day . Now the world record is I think a lady having sex with 700 dudes in 24 hours , but doing that every day seems like a little much to ask of even a mega-slut . So lets say each MS needs to do a 100 guys a day . So you'd need roughly 80,000 mega-sluts . Which isn't so many really .  Worst rant ever . In other news , its taken me 37 years but I've figured out why people often pause for a really long time after you point out that someone is doing the exact thing they're complaining about . Such as ; WindyWendy (coughing) - Jimmy Stats got me sick ! I hate people who come into work sick , its rude ! 40Deuce - You're sick and you're at work . WindyWendy (after a moment) - Yeah , but I blah , blah , blah The pause is because what they want to say is "The rules don't apply to ME !" but they realize that sounds bad so they have to come up with something else to say . Also one time John Hodgeman said "You're right , because this is purgatory and I'm the devil !" But that doesn't track because why would the devil be in purgatory ? That doesn't make sense . And finally , I've always thought that my goal in life was to be a man about town . But a goal is something you work towards and I do nothing to make that be true . So really its my wish to be a man about town . Putting first by putting employees first, immediately after prioritizing fiscal responsibilities and leveraging profitability towards exceeding by empowering our employees to put (and themselves) first, in a diverse and respectful environment of only those that come first, first. |

Interesting point about 'where's the line'. I can't help but wonder if he was really upset because she didn't tell him and he found out else where. Secrets might be the true issue. BTW - NOT the worst rant ever. I rank it at 17. Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

Probably because I'm an accountant or something, the whole "men and women have the same average number of partners" annoys the shit out of me too. Would it be rude for me to suggest that the threshold for being considered a man about town might be a little lower in your town than some other places?

The actual number wasn't important, it was that she'd had more partners than he had... the limit is "less than me, or my willy will feel insecure". And given that men exaggerate and women underestimate then she'd better be well below his count. Particularly as he knows he's including every drunken fumble he's ever had and she's divided her total by two (at least) . Four is probably the safe maximum for a lady...
