I wear the chain I forged in life I made it link by link . Not to criticize a classic , but that's how chains are always made . So what exactly is Jacob Marley's deal ? How as he able to set up the deal for Scrooge ? Do ghosts have meetings ? Was it a religion thing , we has acting as the representation of Jesus Christ our sweet lord ? Was it a Quantum Leap type scenario ? I'd like to know more about the backstory there . And why was he helping Ebenezer ? If he had been an asshole his whole life why would Marley want to help him avoid being a tormented ghost - which apparently is what happens when you die if you're an asshole ? I actually makes a little more sense to me than the concept of Hell . Regardless that kind of strikes a chord with me - I feel like whatever measure of torment we suffer after death (if any) is largely our own doing .  I've been thinking lately about the chain I am forging . Do you think you're a good person ? Probably you do but probably you're not . You know what I think is weird the people who revel in their bad behavior - I think that's one of the only real changes in society in my lifetime . When I was younger shitty people were at least ashamed of themselves - didn't make them any less shitty but it made the rest of us feel slightly better about it . But now it seems like people are more apt to put a vibe out into the world of "I'm an asshole buddy get used to it !" Not sure how that happened . Probably something to do with solar flares . I turned on the television the other day and I about had a heart stoppage because I thought my sex video was on somehow . But I quickly realized it was just a commercial for the Red Bull Flugtag . I breathed a real sigh of relief there .  I watch and listen to a lot of stand-up comedy and the number of times comic's have mentioned someone sleeping during their show I'm starting to wonder if that's like a bit that's part of the comedy culture . Or are there really that many people going to comedy shows and taking a nap ? Another thing I've noticed that with comedy duos and/or trios and/or quadros is that we've reached a point where the person acting "zany" is the straight man and it's the person acting seriously that gets all the laughs . The actions of the farce have become so commonplace and boring that THAT has become the set-up and the perfectly reasonable and rational reaction of the other person has become the punchline . People are such spazzes these days that acting like that is the norm and the hilarious part is when someone employs reason . It's an interesting phenomena . I like comedy but I have been accused of being a snob about it (just like with wrestling) and maybe I am . Someone will say something like "Hey 40 you want to go see the Boner Machine at the Ha-Ha Hut ?' and I will say "No , no I do not , because he is not only not funny he is UNfunny and the Ha-Ha hut is a terrible club in a horrible part of town" and they'll get all up in my business and say "I thought you liked comedy asshole !" Which is not unlike what goes on around this place - AdultFriendFinder, Hookup, Find Sex or Meet Someone Hot Now . A dude says to a woman "wanna hump" and she declines and he freaks out because "I thought you LIKED sex !!!!!" There are probably people who like comedy so much they'll watch anything , just like they're woman who like sex so they'll have sex with anyone (there's not really) but these people are the exception - for most of us quality counts to varying degrees . Also do you think a boner machine is a dude that gets a lot of boners or a lady that induces a lot of boners ? Or a gay guy that does both ? I managed to recover from my third date fiasco with Matchdate von Jigglyboobs but rather predictable it wasn't long until I got myself into trouble again . We were hanging out with her sister and her sister's boyfriend and the conversation turned to the fact that said sister hasn't worked in 3 years . I said to her that my work is always hiring and she blew me off , which I took the hint - as I've mentioned my one good quality is that I allow myself to be blown . But MVJ seized on that and starting asking questions about it , clearly trying to get her sister to engage . The sister said that she didn't want to work for a big company and I stupidly said "I have a friend who's a lawyer who's looking to hire an assistant" it's one of those moments that as soon as the words are out of your mouth you're cursing yourself . So the whole thing starts up again with the sister disinterested and MVJ asking all kind of questions which very quickly degenerated into accusations and recriminations between the two siblings . I tried to stay out of it , which got me nowhere because afterwards MVJ was getting all huffy with me about it and I says to her I says "Seemed like a family matter , I didn't see that it was my place to get involved" which only made her more mad and I pulled my classic move , I figure she's already pissed might as well make things worse so I says to her I says "If your sister wants to be a lazy slouch mooching off your parents that's her choice , it doesn't really have anything to do with you ." Haven't heard from her since . I may never get to see those boobs in their full glory . I was unemployed for more than I year after my business failed and while I was looking for a job the old adage that if you can't find work you aren't looking hard enough is pretty much true . At any time I could have gotten a cashier job - well maybe I couldn't but a normal person could . Some people just don't want to work . I mean none of us do but some people are willing to live with the consequences . And that's just the way it is . Which is reason # 792 that I am glad I don't have - because what do you do in that situation ? It's easy for me to sit here and say the parents should cut off the deadbeat , but that's because I don't love them or care about what happens to them . It has to be tough when your progeny isn't really "bad" per se , they're just kind of losers . An addict you can send to rehab but what do you do when your is just a douche ? I don't know . And thankfully I don't need to know . Putting first by putting employees first, immediately after prioritizing fiscal responsibilities and leveraging profitability towards exceeding by empowering our employees to put (and themselves) first, in a diverse and respectful environment of only those that come first, first. |

that chain thing is kicking my ass. i can think of a lot, i mean a lot of minor bad stuff that could start linking up, yanno? depending on the POV of the chainmaker jeeze You cannot conceive the many without the one.

IMHO fourth date is way too soon to hang out with your date's family. Nevertheless I don't think I like this MVJ, she shouldn't be pissed at you for trying to stay out of it. Amazingly I think there is only one slacker amongst my eight nieces and nephews. Perhaps the next generation will come through for us.

The last time I went to a comedy club (circa 2006) I found the warm-up comic to be much funnier than the head liner. Maybe if I had been drunk.  Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

I can't say that I believe in hell either. . Nor do I believe that we all go to Disneyland if we've been good. . It sounds like a scam to me. Yeah, when did that whole * being proud of being an asshole * thing start? . It just sorta snick up on us. . I hate sneaky people.
