Halloween Special
Halloween Special Time for a non heartache post! This is the closest I can get, lol. The blogger I loved is a big scary movie fan. I rarely watch them. I like romantic comedy, or light science fiction. We used to joke about what we could both enjoy seeing on a date. Any ideas, just in case? Her favourite is "Saw" I think. One thing we had in common was a refusal to ever watch "Candyman" again. That film really gave me the creeps, and to this day I won't even think the name three times, let alone say it anywhere near a mirror, lol. Anyway, inspired by a post I read yesterday by Artemis, [post 1655210] I want to know your favourite movies for Halloween. Years ago I saw a film about a blind woman who was being stalked. I think it might have been called "Blind Terror." I havn't been able to find out anything about it since though, but I remember it was psychologically very scary. Then there was a John Travolta film in which he plays a horror movie sound man who gets involved with a political murder cover up. I think it was called "Blow Out" in the UK and "The Recordist" in the States. It starts out as a stanard conspiricy theory thriller, but at the end there is a sequence which is truly gut wrenchingly horrible and scary. I don't know if this really counts, because it is not a horror film, certainly not in the "Halloween" sense, it just completely changes its identity in the last five minutes. "Halloween" itself has its moments, but I just can't get into Jamie Lee Curtis, so it leaves me a bit disinterested in her fate. I think I would pick "A Nightmare on Elm Street." Like "Candyman," (twice now, that's dangerous... ) it features an Urban Myth idea, which I like, and the premise that you mustn't sleep is a clever one, without quite being horrible enough to actually give me nightmares. And of course it features the classic if-you-get-laid-you-get-killed device so common in horror movies featuring teenagers. What is all that about? lol! Tell me about your favourite scary movies. |

So what you need is the name of a, Si-Fi, Romance that scares you so much ya gotta laugh, right? I've LOVED scary movies since i was a kid, same with my brother. He & i used to have to sneak to watch some of the things we watched, but we just loved having the bajebus scared out of us & talking about it for the next week. LOL These days horrors aren't so much horrors as they are special affects & gore. For me It's the stuff you don't quiet see that is the really freaky stuff. My fave scary/suspense movies in the past few years would have to be..... 'Wolf Creek'....Bloody brilliant. 'Identity'.....Such a cool plot. 'The Ring,' & 'The Others.' Sorta kinda watching some crap horror on the TV atm called 'Valentine' lol Bwah ha ha haa Happy Halloween. Kizza

I don't like modern scary films with blood and gore. My favorites are the ones that truly relied on fear, like 'Night of the Living Dead,'Invasion of the Body Snatchers,' and 'The Blob.'

I haven't seen "cars" but I will look out for it. I am not surprized you aren't that into horror films, I would expect you to be more into natural disasters like maybe, "Twister" or "Dante's Peak" or if in cultured mood, perhaps even "The Tempest" lol!
