What Kind of Blog Headline Attracts You

The reason I ask, is that after my "Worm in Aldershot" post, the first ten viewers to my blog were all men, mostly people who had never visited or commented before. Now I am here to make friends and I like it when men come and read my blog (I wish my old friend Jake88 was still here, we all miss him) but the thing is, call me an old fashioned heterosexual, but what with it being spring and all that I am really on the look out for some sexy flirty women to come and make me feel horny.

So what was it about the previous title which attracted men and put women off. Was it the worm? I suppose most women aren't really that keen on worms.

You're being in too much of a rush, Dreamer!!

you put the worm on the hook and then you wait patiently!!! if the worm you used is attracting the wrong kind of fish, try a different kind of worm!

ALSO - it could've been the 'ALDERSHOT' that scared away the women you wish to flirt with, and not the WORM!!!

Oh, good point! Maybe Aldershot is the problem? You are right, as any good angler knows, it can be a waiting game. I will keep monitoring the situation, lol.

you'll need to create some test titles -- one without the Aldershot and one without the Worm -- that will help you sort out the culprit!

Funnily enough, in my experience, most women have an aversion to worms, not sure why.........

To continue the fishing theme, I'm almost exclusively a fly fisher, so connecting the worm with the fish didn't happen for me.

I think if you used a title which includes words like hung, and eight inches then you're far more likely to attract women viewers and readers.........and probably some men too.......

I suppose 'worm' might have some connotations which would lead women to believe they might see a dick pic if they click through??

I almost never browse the titles of newly posted blogs - 99% of my blog reading is either blogs that I follow, or clicking through from someone's blog comment to see if they have posted something interesting on their own blog.

Ha ha Lindo, yes, that might be worth a try! And of course it would be true...... Have you had any success with that line?

Meanwhile, I didn't know you were an angler. I have to say I of course understand about your exclusive use of the fly, especially as a Scotsman. Funnily enough, whenever I fish for Salmon, (Welsh Usk, Aberdeenshire Dee, and other smaller less well known rivers, ) I always fish the fly. Not sure why but I just don't get the same feeling from the spinner. But I am also an avid bait fisherman for pike, barbel, chub and roach, and there is rather more of that kind of fishing locally to Bloghampton of course. On my travels I also I like a nice eight foot three weight fly rod for trout in small streams, but I can't summon too much enthusiasm for reservoir or lake trout fishing. A northern highland loch, och weeel now that's another matter altogether, as you know of course.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought of that! But I would never sully my blog with a dick pick. (However lovely it might be.)

I just started looking through the recently posted because either the blogs I used to follow are now inactive, or because I was so bored with the watched ones I have left. (Please Send Me Absolutely Free excepted of course.)

Aye, we've a plethora of great fishing up here. And my favourite all time is floating line top of the water for wee brownies on a remote scottish hill loch that I've had to walk into. I've never fished the Dee, but there are several good salmon waters within an hour of me. I also prefer the fly, but would you believe I've never caught a salmon on the fly in Scotland?? fl

Fished a few rivers in England and Wales, for trout and grayling.......magic. I think barbel fishing looks brilliant. But I'm not so keen on coarse fishing otherwise. And match fishing, I don't get that at all.

Crikey, I'd no idea that you were a fisherman, we need to discuss this further.

The machair lochs on the western isles, wow!! And the big lochs on Orkney.......absolutely amazing!

When I see a friend post a blog, I don't always read the title, I'm just happy to see the yellow line.... do you use a yellow line, or is it too easy for the fish to spot, and swim away from it?

On the odd occasion I visit other blogs, I'm sometimes put off by the title, same ol same ol... I have a big dick etc.

I was thinking of the titles which show up if you scroll through the "most recent posts" section on the blogs welcome page.

Interesting question about fishing line. A clear or unobtrusive line is usually best yes. Yellow or red is used sometimes though, often in the heavier gauges like deep sea fishing or in other situations where it is useful to be able to see the line......

Man, I wish I could hear you and Lindoboy discussing fishing in audio. A Scotsman and an English bloke- that would be so freaking cool!

I happened to come in from the watched list today but I would definitely have clicked on it had I seen it in the new postings. The name is intriguing. Yeah, the worm thing might be a little off-putting to a boring chick, but you don't need hose kind of women around you anyway.

Elevate me...

Okay, okay, you got me. Damn, I didn't see that.
Blame it on my keyboard with the sticky letter 't.'
Blame it on the weak light bulb in the lamp over my desk.
Blame it on these old eyes.

It gave me something to write about, so it was a happy accident!
