It's always difficult when you befriend one of mother natures cute furry animals. I once had a pet squirrel. I can totally relate to your feelings.
But, if Grimsby keeps coming around like that, cats will be cats. It's in their nature. I would suggest as a possible solution, that if you could catch him, to do so and remove him to a new location miles from your home. That way there would be hope of his survival.

It's only a suggestion to re-leave your stress.

It's illegal to relocate wild animals here. And if I did that, then I wouldn't get to see Grimsby anymore. But on the other hand, I also wouldn't have to witness him getting attacked and killed by anything. Maybe we could just build him a big squirrel enclosure in our yard to keep him safe from everything.

Hmm...I was just reading about pit bulls, and they've been known to kill cats and other dogs. Maybe what I should do is go to the cat owners and tell them about the pit bull and warn them that they should keep their cat indoors. That would solve the problem, as long as the pit bull doesn't eat my squirrel.
