Drowning out the sound of goodbye
I poured my heart out to you like a bucket full of thick emotion,
I didn't see that your fingers were slightly parted.
The ocean full of feelings and thoughts pool at my feet,
As you step up and away from the mess that it makes.
I didn't see that you weren't holding them dear to your heart,
And I slowly drown in what I have let out.
I apologize for mistaking your ears for what they are not,
I never would have burdened you had I thought that I was.
As I sink slowly in the poison I have bled from my soul,
I look up in time to see your back fading slowly away from me.
Black and oily it covers my eyes and mind,
Until I am empty once more.

Thanks C! I am really my own worst critic, and wasn't sure if this was crap or not, but it appealed to my darkness, and so I spilled it onto my screen. I never remain empty for long when I have friends that fill my life with lightness.
