Midgets for sale I think every parent reaches a point where they begin to question their desire to still be a parent. Where the frustrations and aggravations that they can sometimes pile onto you just become too much and you want to escape. Not forever mind you, but just for a little while to recharge. I wanted to recharge tonight. I was invited out for movies, popcorn and enjoyment.  Wanted to go very badly, but it turns out that even their grandmother wanted a night off from them.  Their father refuses to watch them if I have a date, and there are not a lot of people I'd trust with my midgets, so I had to decline. Damn it.  The oldest one, Cinderella, has been on a stealing spree this week. It's been an issue off and on since I met her. She's also been extremely defiant to my mother and can be very difficult to deal with. She just stares with that fuck you look when she's talked to about her behavior and it's effects on everyone. Not a great week for her. Great, more for her to work on with her counselor. Drama Queen needs to be redirected about every 5 minutes it seems. She will wander off any chore, during dinner, in the middle of any task just randomly. I need to just get one of those looping Cd's with my voice telling her to stay on task. She's not ADHD, she just doesn't want to do what I want her to do. Not that it'd work, but it may just save my voice. Not my sanity though... The Queen of No Pants is my most contrary . Every day is opposite day with her. Laying the smack down on her candy ass doesn't work in case you're thinking that. Neither does time out, taking away privileges or discussing her actions. She is extremely stubborn. Not that she is an evil , just very very independent. The Wee One is taking all of this in. And imitating. I fear for what is left of my patience. It was pointed out to me today that in order for them to have such issues, clearly I'm at fault, at least partially. I know it was said in jest, but it stung a bit anyways. I'm doing my best, but some days it just doesn't feel like it's good enough. I'm frustrated and annoyed.  *Deep breath Tomorrow is a new day. Hopefully I won't still feel like selling them to the highest bidder then.  |

Thanks. It's just been a bad week I guess. It's a good thing they're cute, and I love 'em.  Just some days more than others.

Someone once told me that children are parasites...It's kinda true. Good thing they're so good at being cute and wrapping themselves around our hearts. Yeah, the exes are asses. Good to know we're not alone when all stressed out and frustrated though.

Yep, they didn't come with an owners manual for sure. I try to think of it like practicing medicine. It's called practice because it's not perfect. So I'm practicing parenting.

You know, from everything you have written about your girls, I would say you are a damned fine mother, and once they get to that place in life to try their own wings, they are going to take all the love and time you have invested in them and do wondrous things with it. Some days that road to that place seems mighty long. But take it from an 'empty nester', they never forget those things they are learning from you now, and the little things they do today are the tales you will bedevil them with at family dinners! Honestly my dad would have beat me if I'd acted anything like they do, but that's for a different blog. It's okay, I have my vacation weekend coming up and I'm not telling the ex that I have it off so the midgets will be with him.

I thought it about summed up my feelings at the moment. I rarely lose my calm, on the outside , but sheesh! It was piling up!  Thanks for the great advice.
