 Avid learners might be a bit easier to handle. Of course you have to work to keep the level of material appropriate for them.

Are you being paid for this or is it volunteer work?

Good teachers are a rarity. I can only think of 4 that I have had in my entire life that I would call good. The rest range from adequate to atrocious. I wonder how much of that is due to the system vs their native talents. Grouping children based on neighborhood and not according to ability seems to be the means that were used when I went through school.
