SPECIAL DAY at Cemeteries in AREA

Yesterday generous good hearted citizens honored those in National,
Military and private cemeteries with the laying of Xmas wreaths associated with
WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA.

What an honorable site once all were placed on the graves of Veterans. THANKS to all volunteers who participated!!! This is a wonderful gesture to honor those before us who have given all.

And to those Veterans who assisted with this ritual, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!

Maybe it is quietly done as it used to be on a limited basis here in areas in NC in years past. Before mostly family members bought the wreath and laid it, THEN
organizations such as some DAR, SAR, VFW etc organizations started campaigns and raised money to do a placement on every Veterans grave.

They are so impressive once all Veteran's graves are laid with the wreaths. There are so many wreaths ordered from this one Company in Maine, that the orders have to be placed way in Sept or 1st of October every year, for them to be included in the big transport delivery to our Wilmington and Jacksonville areas.

Usually, the local DAR Chapters, JROTC Units, Veterans groups etc are organized to be on hand day to take delivery and begin placement. A big effort usually.

I seen a post on fb where they were doing that at Arlington, I didn't realize it was at other cemetery's.
Yes, at the National Cemeteries here also, and in some private cemeteries if families or donors buy the wreaths to be laid. A company from Maine was the provider of all these placed down here. Last year the cost was like $15. @

Interested further go to Google and punch in "Wreaths Across America", an interesting read.

Have a good week.
