 Here in NY in the U.S. we've been on PAUSE (Policies to Assure Uniform Safety for Everyone) - much better sounding than lock down or shelter in place - for a month already and it will continue until at least the end of April. Only essential businesses are open - medical, food, construction for essential businesses, child care, etc. No group gatherings, stay at least 6 feet apart from other people, wear cloth masks, wash hands, disinfect anything before you touch it. I think a good part of the world is in a similar position. Many are turning to social media to keep in touch and it gives a more immediate feeling if you can see someone instead of just hear their voice.
As for DOST, he's probably surrounded by his family, therefore not able to communicate with you as before.
I personally believe this situation will take a few more months before we start to return to normal. Until then, just breathe.

 It will all get back to normal. live each day as you can .i just got my wife over covid 2 weeks no contact .she isolated in the bedroom .me in guest room other side\of house. we made it work out .i did not get sick she got better .
