How to deal with feeling like crap
How to deal with feeling like crap Well I really am in a total rut. After the last text post I was diagnosed with severe clinical depression. I waited months to get on a counsellor, and got about two or three half an hour to an hour appointments before lockdown. I'll be honest, I wasn't impressed, I just feel it was the same old vanilla stuff, the sort of talking you get with the samaritans and all that could be suggested was taking antidepressants. I had taken them for about a year before and nothing changed, I'm already on 25-30 pills daily, I don't want any more. I feel that theres a good chance I'm having problems with my present medication as I'm frequently feeling nauseous. The worst though is the life and soul crushing depression. Days where you think of nothing else but what would be the easiest way to end it all. Looking at pages on the proper way to do a hangmans knot, or finding the quickest most efficient way to die. The useless counsellor asked waht was wrong. I said intense loneliness, feelings of hopelessness, no prospects, financial problems, extreme financial problems, lack of energy, lack of motivation and no purpose. His answer to everything, bloody pills. He had kept in occasional contact when lockdown started and then said he didn't see any point in going on. So I wait months for a sub standard service... Life is unendurable, and I can't face the prospects of years to come, alone, Appreciative of the more mature lady. |

Sorry to read this McFalcon, and especially sorry I missed it when you posted originally. Depression, anxiety, are crushing emotions, I don't envy you at all. Not being able to see the woods for the trees is one of the most difficult aspects too. Simple problems tend to get blown way out of proportion as a result. I guess the problem with counsellors is that you'll either connect or you won't, it's probably down to chemistry? One bit of advice I've heard can help is to do one simple positive thing each day. It can be anything, from doing that annoying chore, to writing a blog post here. Another thing to bear in mind is that there's help available, and that someone will always listen, no matter how alone you might feel. I guess the difficulty is that the help is rarely instantly available. If you ever want a blether, please do contact me on my secret post on my blog. Either way, good luck sir, I hope things are turning round for you.

I am so sorry to hear your dealing with depression, and I hope the antidepressants will help you feel better. You know sometimes a therapist can make you feel even better, but the one your talking to doesn't seem to help so I would suggest you find another more suitable ones for your needs, as when you talk to someone who cares it really does help. I hope you feel better soon..take care..
