I'm in a quandary. I understand that people feel we don't care but they don't see how many of us are struggling, actively protesting, writing to our representatives, organizing more protests. We are actively resisting. We know because we are here and they aren't. I get it. But it still bothers me. #resist #persist The observant make the best lovers, I may not do right, but I do write, I have bliss, joy, and happiness in my life, Kitkat Come check out my blog KItkat1415 check out this post by me Adventures In Body Grooming #39 April Topic Link: What Lies Beneath If April Showers Oh Bloody Hell What Kind Of Weather Turns Me On Bloggers Symposium 40

say goodbye to tourism America. and while Annette's words are strong, they are not NOT the truth in how we are perceived worldwide now. protesters are not what is being seen on international news. Trump is. and his ongoing idiocy and denial of rights to one group after another is .....well ...........fascism in the making. resistance must be louder, broader and more visible. it must have leadership in high places and no offense, if Obama doesn't do something soon, I will be sorely disappointed in him. You cannot conceive the many without the one.

Annette, Respectfully, I thought it was reported AROUND THE WORLD that the protests crowds were 3x the size of the day after, #45's crowd at the inauguration. I was simply stating that I was in a quandary. Your words of "It seems like a majority of Americans don't care" is probably right from where you are in the world. I know that not every other country sees what we are attempting to do at the grass roots level and I was trying to talk about that out loud, so that anyone from out of our country can see that. More people voted for Hillary Clinton, but not in the right states, so we ended up with who we ended up with. We do not have a "no confidence vote" and our impeachment proceedings to remove a president both need a reason that is impeachable (breaking of the law), and also an investigation that is thorough and can take years (in the case of Nixon, not so long). In the case of Bill Clinton's impeachment, he was impeached by the House of Representatives but not the Senate, so he remained president. But that investigation went on for years. I guess seeing the words "Shame on you!" was hard to see when I have been part of the most active groups in San Diego, a red (for Republican) county in a Blue (for Democrat) State. I have been writing post cards to my reps (Who are all Democrats), I have been calling the proper phone lines and leaving messages saying I don't want certain people to lead the investigations when there is a conflict of interest. I have been taking the polls to fight back against the censoring of the media by #45. I took a poll yesterday by Fox News (considered a propaganda machine channel for Republicans) that asked how was #45's performance in the first month perceived and I marked it "poor" as did 70% of the other respondents. I have a writer's page on FB where I source my links and write about politics. I am outspoken on in that venue about politics and what I think should be a way forward for our country. In some ways I kept quiet about Brexit because I didn't know enough to espouse an opinion. I'm not saying people from other countries shouldn't state their opinions but you can see that it was hard for me to see those words "Shame on you!" I'm not upset with you for saying that. I'm upset that I cannot affect more change from where I am, with limited resources at my disposal. Thank you for engaging me in this topic, kk The observant make the best lovers, I may not do right, but I do write, I have bliss, joy, and happiness in my life, Kitkat Come check out my blog KItkat1415 check out this post by me Adventures In Body Grooming #39 April Topic Link: What Lies Beneath If April Showers Oh Bloody Hell What Kind Of Weather Turns Me On Bloggers Symposium 40

Annette, I still have a great affection for the Australian newspapers that I read when I was in Western Australia for 6 months in2007, and I still read them online. I read the Guardian and watch bits and pieces of BBC reports. I still listen to the CBC ( Canadian Broadcast Channel ) , which was the only news radio we could get out in the Baja desert in the years we were there for 6 months at a time. I read the NYT, and the Washington post and grew up with the LA Times. More and more we are hearing people regret their vote for either another candidate or voting for TrumpleThinSkin. We have been fighting for easier voting to reach more voters, while the opposition party has been trying to make it tougher for people to vote. Yes, there is voter apathy and we are trying to encourage more people to vote. Many of our young voters were not enthused by either candidate and chose to stay away but of the millenials that did vote, 70% voted for Hillary. The new DNC chair was picked today and all we can do is move forward and try to get more voters out next time.
