I'm curious which ones you think are sexist? - Not all of them are. In the end, unless you're over sixty, very few men and women have any idea what was sexist, what was: "what women wanted" (and not shamed into believing it was wrong), and; what was really meant or intended to be comedy. Or, meant to address reality! Take for instance the VD ad. Does anyone really think there is any difference between this today and back then? . .There are two distinct differences: . . . 1) today VD Kills, and; . . . 2) today, we can't talk about it for fear of offending someone - even if that someone is only one person. But nowadays, women have every right to be as big of a jackass as some men were 100 years ago. For example; this comment from one of your blogs relative to relocation, "The other person will just add to what they already have in place." If anyone, man or woman here is really looking for the perfect partner, they would be as flexible as they can be to facilitate the manifestation of such a relationship. Comments like yours above is what - short of inflexible, self-centered and self-serving. I'm not taking a shot at your character even though some here will jump the gun and attack this as such. But it does demonstrate my point on being jackasses. A generation or two ago, both men and women looked towards the right relationship with the right person no matter what, something they could build on - not such rigid ideologies and strategies that mirrored "hey, if it doesn't work out, I'll divorce the jackass and take him for everything he owns" Tell us all what is not sexist (of females) about this agenda, mindset, approach and strategy towards a relationship an family? Also, 80 years ago, women had no interest in going to school and a career. Their agenda was to marry, being a housewife, having children and being the linkpin of home and children - that is until it all changed after they burn their bra's in the late sixties. So being married before age 20 was normal because it was what women wanted at that time in history. There was nothing sexist about it. Now, women want to have children but not bare (or share) any of the responsibility of raising the children on solid morals, integrity and character because they are too tired after working a 60-80 hour week like men. My favorite excuse for not paying attention to children is Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) which should read PADD (Parental Attention Deficit Disorder) - some just need to get off the Prozac. But they still want to have a baby - why? Is it still in their DNA as women with a vagina? Is this sexist of selfish? Because if they can't or don't want to bare those responsibilities, don't get pregnant, don't push away fathers and call them jackasses because the woman didn't want to put in the effort or the compromise it takes to keep a relationship going. Seems, women found an easier way out and excuse for it - by calling it "sexist" Would have been better to admire the change in times, how far women have come and the reality of the decisions they have been making for the last fifty years. But this certainly brings to light and makes me wonder who the real sexist are these days. ..........
