Cross the threshold
door bangs closed
world outside blocked out
lift your foot
reach down and unlatch one shoe strap
and then the other
shoe is foot tossed halfway down the hall
other shoe undone and dropped
take another half step forward
as unclipping skirt
pulling down side zip
a shimmy and skirt is gone
a pool of dark material left on floor
walking forward as popping buttons on blouse
business attire being discarded
with a shrug blouse removed
draped over a chair as you pass
in bra and underwear enter bedroom
legs apart announce in a growl
"fuck the world"
as you toss your hair
a smile breaks through tension of day
as you lean forward and kiss waiting lips
take a deep freeing breath
hand strokes across familiar shoulders
"let's make love"
as you leave world outside
beyond the threshold
of our world......
