That's beautiful! I can only imagine all the work and time that went into creating it. And no, not talking about the 11 year span between start and finish. There's been a lot of hours spent on that labor of love!

Hmmmm....I know I left that wand around here somewhere!

Perseverance has been the only thing that kept me racing (cars) since I didn't have big $$$ sponsors or cash. Perseverance is what keeps me here too.

I have a partially embroidered quilt from when I was on bed rest during my middle son's pregnancy. He is now 17 and I haven't added a stitch since the day he was born. Yikes!

Wow that is amazing and so much time spent on it! I can see why you had to wait until you were a time-rich retiree to do it!!!

That is a sweet blanket and gift and I know it took a lot of time.
Perseverence is good and stubborness is bad as we are all taught. Sometmes the problem is telling one from the other.

If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin."

I always behave. Preferably not well.

I have a few projects like that. I started a crocheted blanket ten years ago but now can't find the same yarn so I believe it's going to just lay across the foot of my bed!

WOW, nice work BJ.
It's amazing how time flies when you set aside a project like that. I've got several projects I've started that have been waiting a few years for me to complete. Maybe one day. lol.

And it’s good that you’re gifting it. When I first started knitting a friend told me, ‘you won’t want to wear the projects that took a really long time, because you’ll be so sick of looking at them’.

thanks for sharing this post about "perseverance"

wow, now that does provide an interesting perspective on focus

11 years is a long time for sizing someone up

If it took me that long to find the "Right" one, I might have to loosen up my criteria a bit

the longest that it took me to have a relationship with someone was probably 5 years, but, there were other fish in the sea, other ships drifting in my ocean, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera...

however, with my new vision, it may take me awhile to find her

on my profile I put my clear desires in women, and I added one that you suggested last year, because I am persevering and staying the course

but, at the end of the day, I've realized that I truly want to be a kept man

I want a woman (voluptuous heavenly creature) to find me, hopefully, within the next five years or so

she should have a kazilliion dollars and extreme beauty and patience

I would like her to feed me grapes or other fruit as two women are fanning me with leaves. Those two women might throw rose petals in front of me as I walk around our mansion

also, they could be my pool rub-down women

as you can see, I've given this new me, some thought

well, thanks, again for sharing this post with me

I really enjoyed it

Holy Crap, That's a ridiculously huge project! What were you thinking?

I started a cross stitch pillow project 22+ years ago, for a sorority sister, that I thought I'd finish for a njeces wedding gift. She's been divorced now, for many years.

Maybe, some day, I'll finish it, for myself. IF I ever figure which storage box it's in, first.

Check out my profile or and become a "watcher" of my blog FMAOPLS,to learn more about me, and for intelligent, lively, smartassy and fun discussion, with a little irreverence thrown in. "Like" or comment on my photos, and I promise I'll add more. Thanks.
