Frankly I don't see many as moving for me as this one is. It IS inspirational and there are so many nuances to it. Greenberg saw an opportunity and got the shot. It's photojournalism at its finest.

 The idea that the Statue of Liberty gives people when they arrive at it, and aren't Americans is that everyone is free.
As one comedian put it, "Yeah, we're free. We're free to be shot by the police, free to be tased by the police, free to be teargassed by the police, free to be pepper sprayed by the police..."
*sigh*
I love the photo as it's hopeful.
I'm still hopeful.
I went to a protest on Saturday this week. Lots of "Fuck the police" and "Fuck tRump" but also lots of hope.

Well...."Fuck the Police" and "Fuck Trump" give ME some hope. It means there are some protestors out there thinking like me.

The photo is hopeful to me but also sad, bittersweet. I was moved at the sight of the marchers under the eyes of the Statue of Liberty, exercising their first amendment rights in defiance of the current administration in Washington. Trump has to be seething that he couldn't get a fraction of the numbers in these protests to attend his inauguration or any of his rallies. People are infuriated at him for both his policies and his neglect. They loathe his indifference to their wants and needs. THAT is hopeful indeed.
