 Well Standard members can't send flirts. As for emails. I think standard members need to be a friend or top fan to send an email.

So blog posts may be the only way of contacting people. Some members have a private post section to there blogs for conversations that aren't for all to see.

 Some folks go about it in different ways. Hotlist is a way of remembering someone's profile to go back to later. A flirt is an online compliment - it means 'I fancy you'. If you return a flirt you'll often get a message.

I and lots of my 'friends' regularly send flirts. It's a way of saying 'we haven't messaged recently but I enjoy seeing your pictures/blog'. Or 'haven't forgotten me have you?'.

 Blogging is about the only thing standards can use freely. I do like poking around in old blog basements as well.
