The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men... This past weekend, we attended the School House Rock party hosted by Risque Soiree and we had a very, very good. However, the night didn't exactly go as we had hoped it would or wanted it to, but as it turns out the way things actually turned out was what we really needed and what was really the best thing for us. In the event that someone else out there who might read this can benefit from it, we will explain how things went and how things didn't go according to our plan (or our initial desires, rather) and then how they turned out to be just what we needed. First of all, when we initially made our hotel reservations for this event back in February right after Naughty Gras, we only made it for one night because that is all we thought the event was going to be. By the time we learned that there was going to be some socializing on Friday night, it was too late to get the hotel room we had booked for Saturday night for Friday night as well. However, we still very much wanted to go down there on Friday night to hang out and socialize with some new friends that we had been chatting with and to get to see some of the sexy people that were going to be at the School House Rock party the next night, but since we didn't have reservations we figured we would be driving back to Idaho Falls afterwards, which is not something we were looking forward to, but felt it was worth it. While we were packing and getting ready for our weekend, my lovely and very wise partner suggested that we take everything for Saturday night with us in case we found someone willing to offer to let us stay with them (as we have done several times in the past with others). I have to admit that I had thought about it, but didn't think it was something she would be okay with. As she has done so many times, she surprised me! So we packed our bags and headed down to Lava Hot Springs not knowing where we were going to end up that night. For anyone who knows me, you would know how uncharacteristic that was for me, but I knew I would be with Nancy one way or the other, so I didn't care. So we left the house in Idaho Falls and headed down to Lava Hot Springs for what we were hoping would be a wonderful weekend. We got to the bar and had dinner with the two couples (M&K and M&M) that we had been chatting with and getting to know from another swingers site that we are members of. We established a decent connection with one of the couples (M&K), but not quite so much with the other couple (there was nothing wrong them at all, we just didn't feel any chemistry or a connection with them; it is not something we can really explain, but we think most people here will understand what we mean). Shortly after we were done eating and right around the time the Meet & Greet part of the evening was scheduled to begin, a couple (P&F) that we had gotten to know from Naughty Gras (back in February) that Nancy really connected with and that we both wanted to spend more time with showed up and sat with us all. They knew one of the other couples (M&K) that we were with because they are from the SLC area. That was great and ended up being the start of a great weekend. Throughout the rest of the evening, we hung out, chatted, and socialized and had a great time. As the end of the evening approached, the subject of us driving back to Idaho Falls came up and all 3 couples that we were sitting with (M&M, M&K, and P&F) were offering to let us stay with them. It turned out that P&F had a room with 3 queen sized beds in their 2-room suite, so we thought that would be the best option logistically and because it was a couple that were both really wanted to spend some extra time with. Things continued to get better for us when M&M were invited to go back with another one of the couples that was at the Meet & Greet meaning that we would be spared the awkward situation of having to tell them that we weren't interested in playing with them and then to make things even better P&F invited M&K to come back with us to their room. The 6 of us had a really good time and Nancy got to play with P, who is someone that she felt really comfortable with and had a strong connection with. I also enjoyed myself quite a bit too, so it wasn't just one-sided. The next morning, we got up had breakfast with all 3 couples we have mentioned so far and it was a good time. After that, Nancy and I decided to spend some time wandering around the town of Lava Hot Spings checking out some local shops and trying to learn more about the history fo the town, which is something that we both enjoy quite a bit. While we were doing that, I managed to find a couple very unique and appropriate birthday presents for a friend of mine whose birthday is coming up soon and we both found a really great piece of artwork that we both thought would go very, very well in the family room at my house in Idaho Falls. Whe we saw it, we both knew it was meant to be there (when we got home and put it up on the wall, we were amazed at how well it fit in with what was already there). Then we had dinner with a bunch of couples that were all going to the party later than evening. It was great food and great company! Now that I have bored with all the stuff leading up to the party, let's get to the good stuff!! Nancy was very, very nervous about the party because it was going to be her first event like this and her first time to so open sexually with that many people around. Another couple that we are really good friends with here in Idaho Falls (J&J) were also feeling the same way, so Nancy and J (the female half of J&J) had made an agreement to keep each other from chickening out and to support each other, which I thought as a marvelous idea. The whole night was a lot of fun and as the night went on, both Nancy and she-J felt more and more comfortable about being there and being sexaully expressive. When the time finally came for the four of us to go to the Detention Room (i.e. the Play Room), we all nervously entered and discovered that M&M were already in there and didn't feel real good about doing anything in there in fear they would want to join in, but they left shortly after we got there, which is just another example of how well our weekend had been going. So we decided that it was time to start playing and enjoying ourselves. Unfortunately, it came to our attention the she-J was at the tailend of a vist from Aunt Flow, so she was not really able to do as much playing as we had hoped for and as a result of that he-J was not really in the mood for playing either because he knew his lovely wife couldn't participate as much as she would have liked. So it ended up just being Nancy and I playing with each other there in the Play Room with about a dozen or so other people in there playing. Well, as it turns out, that was the best thing that could have happened for us and it is what we should have planned for in the first place. It was absolutely amamzing and it was so freeing for the two of us. It was the natural next step that we needed to take on our journey into the lifestyle. We both really believe that we will both feel much more comfortable being more sexually expressive in front of other people as a result of this experience. The thing that I really hope people take away from this is that somethings when things don't seem to be going as we think we want them to, they sometimes turn out exactly as they should have. It seems that life can offer up things that We never would have expected. At every turn their can be a learning experience. When we go into things with large expectations, They just don't materialize. After many years In this life style We still have little nagging feelings of insecurity, Are We attractive enough, Do we look too old, How does "My Ass look in these Pants", Did we shave in all the right places. But through it all We have found that by trying not to worry about what other Folks might think, and just express who we are. We will be just fine out there in that larger world Of "Swingerville"

Hey Dennis and Nancy, I am glad things worked out for you and you were finally able to let go of your inhibitions and just enjoy the moment (in detention) lol. I have found in the life style that if you "just go with the flow and let go" you will have the most amazing experiences, some you never dreamed possible. Although I didn't attend the School House Party, Your hosts (Risque Soiree) has a way of setting every one at ease and make the flow of the evening all seem so natural. Glad you had a great time. Bud
