Country Charm A Poem
Country Charm A Poem It was a good day. I was whisked away By a friend Wanted show me His place. I had never been But was curious. His house was old And had a lot Of antiques And knicknacks As well as musical instruments. He was make us lunch Chicken and steak kabobs Broccoli and potatoes. We sat outside on his deck The sun was so bright I didn't realize what it was Doing to my . Later on I saw it was red. Along with my chest Where my shirt had a V neck. It was a lovely day Very nice conversation. He was happy show His collections of various things Including door stoppers, Trivets and swords. He has a few elephants Made of iron and other metals He has a few clocks That he winds when he thinks of it. His house is full of character Eclectic in design Built pre civil war And renovated over time. Let's just say It still could be used As the setting in a movie For many a prior decade. I just wanted to mark the time A day that held such country charm. In the company of a friend is ever so generous For which I thank him. Independently Romantic Sounds Better Than Lonely |
