A seagull...Just happens to be my High School Mascot...Funny thing...Seagull's can be attracted and mate to the same sex...They like a lot of birds mate for life...The only real exception to that are Penguins...Penguins are like Peyton Place of the bird kingdom...Quite randy little Fuckers...They do just about everything us Humanoids do...

I was sure you were singing the Tim Curry song, as performed by Carole Pope and Rough Trade on their direct-to-disc release, Umbrella. I added a verse or two at the end...

Birds of a feather flock together, yes they do, Yes!

My voluptuary bird of paradise, I fold your wings,
I won't think twice.
If the pleasures of the flesh could transcend,
Then ecstasy would be my end
Don't be contrite, let's take flight!
I might not feel this open again.
Strutting peacock, with azure plumes,
Come in into my cage, I mean my room!

Birds of a feather flock together, yes they do, yes!
Birds of a feather flock together, yes they do, yes!

It's intoxicating for me to fantasize like this,
I'd rather be anywhere than this flea-bitten dive.
A funky motel room with a kleig light outside
A Lincoln laying rubber, spraying gravel at the door.
Don't be contrite, let's take flight!
I might not feel this need again.
Swaggering tough, with youth's cruel bloom,
Come in into my cage, I mean my room!

Birds of a feather flock together, yes they do, yes!
Birds of a feather flock together, yes they do, yes!

We're from the same jungle
Our existence depends on our underhanded games.
There's no money in the mattress,
No release for your veins.
We're just two jive street fighters, so don't complain.
Don't be contrite, let's take flight!
I might not feel this sane again.
Alley commando, denim dragoon,
Come into my cage, I mean my room!

Birds of a feather flock together, yes they do, yes!
Birds of a feather flock together, yes they do, yes!

I'm not worth a damn,
Lost in the stars.
A roamer's flesh, watering eyes,
Your smoldering reckless,
So insinuating, I'm a victim of passion,
A vapid melting bruise, falling bewildered
Birds of a feather, falling bewildered

* * *

So come on, let's not lay an egg
Please please honey, don't make me beg
You can squeeze my lemon, baby,
Till the juice runs down my leg...

Spread your wings for me now,
I'm pretty sure you know how
You can fly me to the moon,
Just don't leave me in the gloom

I love to watch the birds. I have a pair of cardinals who start singing at 5am and I also have a very raucous friendly chikadee who like cat treats. These are great photos. Did you ever seethe movie Johnathan Livingston Seagull??? Gave me a real appreciation for Richard Bach

Hi Joy.

thanks for the post and your story with the birds...

I have squirrels that do the weirdest things outside of my house...

My grandmother once told me that the difference between us and animals was our ability to stop and reason why... to smell the roses not to be eaten... but, just appreciated... I didn't understand her... but, didn't think another thing about it... until... I moved to Plano...

I have found that I can watch the squirrels in my yard... I have no pets as I am a people person... luv people that do have pets... especially melonlicious breasted beauties that see me...

but, no pets... so, animals coming onto my property know that they don't have to fear cats or dogs... so, they feel right at home... sometimes... birds build their nests in trees that I let them live in... and, sometimes, their children come back and have another first... I luv that... especially, the bluebirds... my fave color... and for some reason, I don't get red birds or other birds in my back yard... just the bluebirds... they may be passive, aggressive... I don't know... I don't speak bird... I just observe...

but... the squirrels... do seem to like my oak trees in the back yard and a purple tree I have in the front near an office window... there is a branch in the front tree that a squirrel can fit in upside down in a contorted position relaxes as can be just pondering the world... it's like he is thinking about my melonlicious breasted heavenly creatures from far away... why are they so far away... he may be asking... why aren't they here... why does it seem like there are so many more Canadian goddesses that are not being satisfied in their native country.... they sure do ponder alot...

and, sometimes, they sun themselves on the sidewalk... or on the trunk of a tree... just fat, dumb and happy, in god's country...

well... that's all I've got to say about that...

The Civil Wars - "Birds Of A Feather"

Where she walks, no flowers bloom
He's the one I see right through
She's the absinthe on my lips
The splinter in my fingertips

But who could do without you?
And who could do without you?

She the sea I'm sinkin' in
He's the ink under my skin
Sometimes I can't tell where I am
Where I leave off and he begins

But who could do without you?
And who could do without you?

Oh, aren't we a pretty, pretty pair?
Yes, we are
All, all the king's horses
And all of his men
Couldn't tear us apart

Dancing with a ball and chain
Through it all we still remain
Like butterflies around a flame
Till ashes, ashes, we fade away...

I love all birds, even scavenging vultures, dive-bombing guklls and pooping pigeons.
My favourite birds are penguins; and my favourite native bird is the Manx Shearwater.

I love hummingbirds, but in general can admire birds from afar, but don't like it when they get up close to me. I think it's a throwback to watching Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" when I was young and impressionable.

I seem to have missed out on a gene that my Mother passed down to all my other (4) sisters. I do love nature, but don't go all "ga ga" over it. They used to make a big fuss when the deer would wander into the yard, or when birds were at the feeder. My reaction is more like "Meh, seen it once, seen it a hundred times, it does nothing for me". LOL

Check out my profile or and become a "watcher" of my blog FMAOPLS,to learn more about me, and for intelligent, lively, smartassy and fun discussion, with a little irreverence thrown in. "Like" or comment on my photos, and I promise I'll add more. Thanks.
