I miss the traditional Christmas morning breakfast and supper my parents always had. This time of year is hard on the Mrs as she lost her Mom 2 days before Christmas years ago as well as her Dad at the end of Nov, years ago! That is one of the reasons I let her celebrate her birthday which is the 25th.

You're not bringing anyone down. You're right, this is a special time and remembering all those wonderful events from the past, makes us warm inside. Passing the tradition on to your children is a great idea. As we develop our traditions, it's always in the back of my mind that nothing stays the same forever. So, embracing change has to be part of our ongoing experience. I hope you're all ready now with your stocking stuff and wines. I think I'm ready. I consider myself very fortunate, I have both parent's still living. I will also be spending Christmas Day with them as well !!!

I have my list of gones. It is the way of life.  On the bright side of this blog comment: I have one great uncle, one great aunt and 5 aunts still living quite well...4 of the 7 are in mid to late 90's. One in the early 90's and two are soon to be there too. A hug for Joy.

know how you feel, lost my father in the 1970s, mom and sister 5 weeks apart in 2013, and my other sister in 2015, some good times and bad, but they are missed

i am finding out just how hard this is...someone that i am usually with every day...it has been quite hard this year with the holidays coming and going without her this year.

Wow! Amazing tribute to your parents! They proud of you. This time of year, I miss a love one, every year it's somebody else, this year is an older cousin, she was on of my favorites!
