No pearls of wisdom from Mom, at least none that I can remember or stuck. Though there are time I act like or sound like the old man.

My Mom was very easy going, laid back, never heard her yell or swear! But, When one of us, 5 sisters and me, screwed up she got a tone in her voice that made us freeze in our tracks! When she said your name in that tone, u shut up and listened, u could hear the thunder and the lightning bolt building!!!! That taught me in life to pay attention when someone tone of voice changed! My Dad always told us, "You won't ever know about kids, until u have kids of your own!" Oh so true, Thanks Dad!

Cant think of any words of wisdom from my parents. Though my father said "you shoot to straight" after my wife's third pregnancy. “For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen.” ― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Much like this site Visit my Blog for my adventures.

Good morning my friend and this is a difficult subject for me, I wish my mother had done all those things, the only thing I can say about her is that she was a great cook, in which I watched and learned many culinary skills from her. I hope you have a great week my friend..

Joy I recognise most of those expletives from my mother, is it from a book or a floppy disc? However my mother never told them showing such a sexy arse as you have and if you would like to know how I would respond to such a lecture let me know! x

Due to circumstances beyond my Mom's control, she was not able to teach me anything... I like the spin you put on your Mom's sayings....I have heard variations of those at one time or another from the adults whom did raise me. Four different women had input into my raising. I did not use the parents sayings other than the logic one! lol I do remember the day my son said, "Dad, my family takes up all my time" I said "I understand"..at that moment I was thinking of the day that same person as a teenager said to me, "Dad, you need to get a life" LOL He is a great father, a decent husband and a credit to the community too.

Hi Joy... thanks for sharing this with us... I laugh when I catch myself saying those phrases... like my mom or like my dad... or like my grandparents... however... I felt blessed... because many people that I've met in my life did not have two parents... or, were adopted... or, were only 1 child families... I had many siblings... and... so, you learned to fight... share... tell stories... run for your life... protect... all kinds of lessons... I felt good reading your story... hmm... Tiffany Alvord - "Mother Always Told Me" My mother always told me Be careful when it comes to love Don’t get yourself in trouble Broken hearts are way too much My mother always told me To take the less travelled road But I had a point to prove her That I could do it on my own But I was innocent, she was right and I was young Looking back at photographs, never wanted summer gone Making angels in the snow, didn’t care if it was cold My mother always told me “mother knows” Know, know, know, know Know, know, know Know, know, know, know Know, know, mother knows My mother always told me Not to cross the line You can only burn your bridges One too many times My mother always told me You gotta have some nerve You might not get what you want But you’ll get what you deserve But I was innocent, she was right and I was young Looking back at photographs, never wanted summer gone Making angels in the snow, didn’t care if it was cold My mother always told me “mother knows” Know, know, know, know Know, know, know Know, know, know, know Know, know, mother knows Know, know, know, know Know, know, know Know, know, know, know Know, know Woah oh I should’ve listened when she talked Woah oh She didn’t understand what I thought But I was innocent, she was right and I was young Looking back at photographs, never wanted summer gone Making angels in the snow, didn’t care if it was cold My mother always told me “mother knows”... Mom always made me share everything ..... then told me to quit complaining...... then told me to be nice to everyone, even the ones I don't like...... I share most things easily........ my complaints are minimal....... I try to be nice, but then again those people that I don't really like I don't treat them badly. Does that count as being nice? Don't forget they are meeting you for the first time too. First impressions of people are not always accurate.
