I liked what you wrote, it makes me think or remember ... The true joy you will ever have is what comes from your inner self .. Never let anyone take that from you .. because guess what ... no can unless you let them. I see you have it in you ... The Joy is and always will be yours.

Thank you for sharing, at times I also feel jaded , site can be so..all the liars and cheaters. Also learned some joyful things, can be hard at times to remain optimistic here. You are so right, one can never have too much joy.

I wouldn't say I'm jaded, however I have come to realize that some people use a site like this to express their most base feelings. No filters, be gross as they want because of the anonymity. If you were to meet those same people in real life, they would no doubt be polite.

If anything this site will speed up the process of of having doubts in people. It's not so much I've become jaded, as it is I've become less naive, and more aware of the world, and how people in it are. That my own small view on the world, and how people should be, don't exactly mesh. That being said, I've met some beautiful people on here as well. Thoughts from the Garden...

To be disillusioned one must first have believed an illusion. When that illusion is stripped away and you learn the truth it can be painful but is actually a good thing. You should be taking joy in "Lessons Learned", there have been several. Even if you appear to have missed the most important lessons on the realities of humanity. Knowledge (which you've gained) itself isn't enough. In five years you should have been enlightened on spotting the jackasses that have left you with a 'jaded' conclusion. Filter them out, and you're left with the other 20% who are unlikely to disappoint you.

Ya know . . . Author, that really would be an interesting in-person conversation with a date/potential/partner, etc. Not really something I'd want to read on line since that has much less of an effect. Guess it depends on how comfortable people are with sharing or how comfortable they make each other feel at that moment. But, thinking about it, such a discussion about adult revelations and even self exploration would be, at our age, like talking about sex when we were virgins. just a thought - however weird
