Thank you for this agricultural post. It was totally fascinating and full of interesting facts and folks. If I am lucky in Las Cruces I might find one last Pecos 'lope (Virtual Symposium Group) use Virtual Symposium Group

WOW! Very interesting! In 2007 I spent about six months in the Pecos / Ft Stockton area stinging fiberglass water pipe between many oil well locations, one of the largest runs of water pipe in the U.S.! In all that time I never heard of the "Pecos Cantaloupes", Damn, and I love cantaloupes..... I did however get a quick view of a huge salt mine,, quite a few miles deep I think, about 25 miles north of Pecos.been closed for many years, and some cave dwellings in a pass we pulled pipe thru southwest towards Van Horn, over 20 miles , it wasn't rated important enough to be a state park! Great post!
