 They know you are ultimately looking for a relationship .... So he's in you for the sex, in the guise of Fwb's, for as long as it will last. Why does he need to be in a relationship when he can date women and/or have women as Fwb's?

and an open relationship would be acceptable .... So again, why should be committed to a relationship at all? Answer: He wouldn't.

and actually encouraged. .... If you mean he is encouraging you to seek that open relationship you want, he's being at least fair about this.

As soon as you find that relationship [with somebody else] he will stop being your Fwb. His role as fwb will be ended due to your romance within a relationship with someone else.
