NJ / NYC New Wave / Punk Scene late 70's early 80's

Somehow in the late 70's I got so caught up in the NEW Wave Punk Scene.

I loved The music, The Fashions, The Clubs, The People

My two favorite NYC clothing stores were:
Trash & Vaudeville
Fiorucci

The clubs I could go on and on.
NYC had the best.
Limelight
Danceteria
Peppermint Lounge
Palladium
Trax
Hurrahs
Privates
CBGB's
Max's Kansas City
Cat Club

Jersey there was
Royal Manor North
Close Encounters
Dirt Club
Hitsville
City Gardens
One Step Beyond

This subject I could talk forever on.
Most fun times of my life were in that era

To find out when and where your favorite band was playing you would either read the Village Voice or the Aquarian Weekly.

Was just good fun music. Where the songs would average 3 minutes or under.

Bands like the

Sic Fucks
The Bongos
The Cure
999
Even Cyndi Lauper's first band Blue Angel was Awesome
Holly & The Italians
The Flirts
Deadboys
Ramones
Early Clash

You had Record Labels like Stiff

I could go forever on this subject.

Did you get caught up in it, Like it or hate it???

I never cared much for the punk scene, but I do remember seeing Blue Oyster Cult in New Jersey in 1979, I think it was Elizabeth but I just can't remember for sure. They were billed as Soft white Underbelly, It was one hell of a show.

I reckon so

Never saw Blue Oyster Cult. But in the mid 70's I sure did have my share of seeing many Rock Concerts. Mostly at the Garden in NYC, or the Spectrum in Philly.

One of my first was the best. Seeing Humble Pie in Asbury Park.
