After a long and tireless search, I have found what I am looking for....

And No, what I found has nothing to do with sex.... LOL

I have been shopping for a new car for a few months now... And when I am investing that kind of money, I don't tend to take it lightly. So I shopped and researched. Read reviews, then compared and shopped some more.

By the time I went for a test drive I was able to tell the Salesman more about the vehicle then he ever figured I should know. In many ways it was almost comical. During this process I received more than one shocked look.

So yesterday I picked up a 2019 Nissan Kicks, straight off the showroom floor. Only had 12 km (7.5 miles) on the odometer. This is the first new car I have ever owned.

I am so excited!!! Let the adventures begin!!!

Question for the women: Do you find some men (I don't paint all with the same brush, EVER) are surprised when you know things that are usually an area of male dominance??

Question for the men: Are you surprised when a woman knows about things that are usually an area of male dominance??

That comment could go two ways:

1. You don't like the car, or

2. You are not surprised woman know what they are talking about.

I am picking 2. To which I say, good for you.

My hydraulic on my trunk lid failed.. I googled it.. discovered the problem and took it to my local garage (an electrical fault)
His first question was "how long have you owned the car?" you do know you have to press the key fob twice?" ,,,,, I was a bit miffed at that. I thought if I was a man would you ask me that stupid question!! ....
So I told him exactly what wire it was, what colour it was, and how to get at it and he smiled at me... when I went back, I asked if it was exactly how I described, and he sheepishly said "yes" ,,, never judge a book by it's cover!

redhotfun4you2 replies on 8/3/2019 5:46 am:
Oh so very true, I am not the type to judge a book...

I had an issue with a mechanic many years ago. I had a car that (depending on what month it was built) had two different types of struts. He argued that I was stupid to think that... well until his manager got involved (which was after he hung up on me the second time). The mechanic got fired, I got a new mechanic and a 50% discount on the repair for having to deal with the idiot. LOL...

Not shocked at all...Easy now days to make an intelligent decision. Sounds like you did your homework and made your purchase. Good Luck with the new ride!

For me....it’s been sports. I watch a variety and have seen every pro team in my city play. No one has to explain what offside is in hockey 🏒 or what a balk is in baseball ⚾️ lol.

redhotfun4you2 replies on 8/3/2019 5:55 am:
Good for you. I am not a sports fan, with the exception of car racing (mainly NASCAR cup series) So I would need all those other sport analogizes explained, and still would probably not get it. Which is fine with me.

I had a pick-up that kept having an error code. When I took it in, they told me it was from the fuel cap not being replaced correctly. The shop guy was very polite when he made his little speech about how to put the cap on. I told him I had been driving for a long time and was well aware of how to replace the fuel cap. I didn't explain to him that I rode motorcycles and drove hot rods and sometimes did my own work on them. Girls don't do that ya know...
Oh...and I later got a Class A CDL and drove a semi truck. But girls don't do that either.
Love your new car! Very nice looking.

Hmmmm....I know I left that wand around here somewhere!

redhotfun4you2 replies on 8/3/2019 6:10 am:
Thanks I love it too and haven't owned it 24 hours yet.

The fact that you owned a pick-up should have told him something... lol.

I too drove bikes, growing up, at least I don't drive one now. But have always been a firm believer that woman can do anything a man can do. I know several woman truck drivers. Good for you, not allowing anything to stand in your way of doing what you wanted.

i am not surprised at all, I am quite well aware that a woman can do anything that she wishes to, and that there are not many things that women can't do if they want to

Not the Whole Truth but the truth that I can see.

Glad to hear you are not surprised at a woman's ability.

I find that guys are more apt to b.s. when they don't know something than woman are, mechanics included. Glad you're happy with your purchase

Drop in and visit my blog sometime, but you'll probably regret it

Thanks, I am very happy with it. You will probably see it sometime soon. Now that I have reliable wheels, I could end up anywhere

Haven't decided on where my first trip will be... lol

Nope, women are just as capable as men. Nice car.

I wouldn't be surprised, I generally assume everyone knows more than me about everything so I would imagine a lot of times they would the ones teaching me a thing or two.

Not surprised at all. I find it very attractive when a woman has the knowledge in an area such as cars. Well Done.

I rarely call a handy man to do things around the house but in one instance I had no choice. The one-call-can-do-it all guy was kinda taken aback when he got told" I know exactly how to fix this but I called you because it is way too heavy for me to pick up. So you need to do this and this and this". His jaw went to the floor. And then he asked what else I had for tools in my garage. He was surprised to see a band saw, a table saw, several drills and polishers and other "men's tools". Then he discovered I had built my own stair railing to the second floor to meet code. His apology went on for three minutes

I used to have more tools than most men.... lol. My son has acquired most of them or they no longer work... I would love to have more larger tools, but don't have the space right now.

I once made new fronts for my apartment cupboards and drawers. The landlord was shocked... lol.

I would never underestimate what a woman is capable are. I know many women who know a lot more than men and usually do a better job at things when they put their mind to it. Gone are the days when women thought they had to rely on men for all their needs.

Man here. Not surprised, knowledgeable know, there's women out there flying in space. It's not unheard of, for one to understand a car.

redhotfun4you2 replies on 8/3/2019 9:54 pm:
Very true, women are succeeding in all kinds of once male dominated careers.

I found it more comical then offensive that "some" men are surprised when a woman is knowledgeable on such subjects.

I used to sell cars... way back in the day. It was always surprising and interesting when the men knew what they were talking about... let alone the women.
It's a pleasure to meet people who know what they're talking about... regardless of their sex. 🤔

I like to be informed when I am making a huge purchase. I feel that when one invests that amount of money one should also invest time in research.
