"Age is just a number" is a formerly clever but now eye rolling phrase that is meant to convince an older women who you feel some attraction. To consider you a viable sexual partner because most women can't consider sexual partners viable if the perceive them as not equal or above their current status. And younger than them is automatically seen as not equal.

The women on this site should read this post. Here is a woman that is very low/no drama, discrete, and doesn't gossip. She's a winner. Plus, she keeps in shape with her diet and exercise. All of the above makes you desirable. Ted

Good points here. You mentioned that you don't think like a younger person, etc. The problem is that these men are only looking at you physically and throwing out the age is just a number routine. That's all they're caring to get to know you by.
