Today at the gym....

I did some stress walking at the gym today.

Lord knows I needed it.... It was actually kind of a rough, stressful week for me last week at work. Between the termed employee showing up in my office nearly every day to yell at me and throw shit at me and the usual nine million deadlines and not enough time to complete it all in, it was a fucktastic week.

I ended up going to the gym a little earlier than I normally do and found a whole new cast of characters hanging out.

There was Half Alive Stair Guy slumped over the rails of the stair machine, somehow still managing to climb those steps.

Back in the corner was Hipster Poser, acting cool and looking for chicks. While he was not actually doing any working out, he was totally giving you the impression he was about to start at any moment.

Probably the most notable was White Supremacist Tattoo Guy. He spent 45 of the 60 minutes I was at the gym running full speed on the inclined treadmill. At one point he furiously ripped his hoodie off his body and flung it from the treadmill.

He was walking toward me as I was leaving.... And, not going to lie, the bald head, angry expression, and tattoos sketched me out. I looked away when he looked at me, secretly thankful I was still wearing my ear buds and listening to music.

Part of me would kind of like to know his story, though.

 being ASIAN i would be a little freaked about the white supremist. but here in the SOUTH i'm considered WHITE so dunno if i would be in jeopardy. i have an ASIAN friend who used to date a pro confederacy guy. i find it odd.

When I’m at the gym, I’m focused on not being a “lunkhead” or not wimping out in front of everyone and partly feeling sorry for myself because I’m so proud I can run at 4.5 setting for about 2 minutes until I look over and see the person running at 8.0 setting. Plus, the gym location i go to is in the “gaybourhood” so a lot of the men are probably gay based on location. So, I mind my business, admire their forms and try to not fall off the treadmill. 😂
1. Not because he had tats.... I know a lot of people who have a lot of body art. It was because of one tat that he had on his hand, and yes, it looked like a swastika. I was able to get a pretty decent view of him as, when he got off his machine, he paced back and forth in front of me.

2. I, also, am the short, chunky, nerdy woman trying not to look like a total loser. LOL I never look around or watch anyone because, well, that's creepy... But, when your routine happens to be similar to other regulars, you get to know them a little and find yourself smiling and saying Hi. One really fit woman is always pointing out tips to me as she and I talked about my knee injury one day, and she knows I have to be careful how I step. Somehow she could tell by my heavy right step that I was favoring my left knee.

 I have questions:
1. Is it because of his tats that he’s White Supremacist Guy? I mean, unless he’s running around with a tattoo of the Nazi swastika and Trump, he may just look mean. I’m short and fat and people still think me mean because I have heavy resting bitch face and always look like I’m ready to fight you if you even say hello.

He did not have a goatee.... So he must not be from Texas. LOL One of the TV's at the gym is usually on the CNN channel and he paid absolutely no attention to it at all. I was actually watching it because Biden was on there live from Pennsylvania.... I was reading his campaign speech (subtitles)... interesting stuff.

The more I've thought about it, the more I've felt sad for this guy. I could be way off base, but something tells me he was raised to be angry by parents who probably weren't ideal and his paragraph is an unhappy one.

Terrible, but funny. LOL After hearing the things one of our new employees was telling me, I don't think I'll be eating at our Taco Bell any time soon. She worked there previous to working with us, and.... Let's just say, safe practices are not happening. No temps being taken even when they are now required, sick employees being told they have to come to work even though they are sick, sanitize processes from even before the COVID are not being followed except for when they are getting an inspection.... That's only the COVID infractions. Don't get me started on the unsafe food practices.

A couple of smaller ones have come down before in windy weather. The biggest of them are too big to reach around and tall enough to crash into my bedroom if they go down. Fortunately it wasn't one of the larger ones and it went in the direction the wind was blowing. So it landed across my backyard with the upper branches just hitting the backside of my garage. I didn't have enough time from hearing the crack and heading for the floor at the end of my bed before I heard the crash it made when hitting the ground. So I guess I better take that as a warning and go climb up the taller ones that are threatening my house and take them down in pieces before they come down on me and tear me to pieces.
This guy is a little scary, because, he really thinks if he makes a big enough production out of his term, we'll bring him back. He was termed in good standing with the ability to rehire when he felt he was ready to come back. I don't see that as being still the case.... This guy has become disgruntled. He left my office Friday and called the store an hour later to find out 'for sure' If he was termed. Wtf?!?
