Corn Cobs and Astroglide

I have a friend does the curbside shopping for one of our local stores.

As you can imagine, she sees a lot in the course of the day....

I've heard quite a few stories since she's started her latest adventure. This one, by far, is my favorite.

"So, picture it. I'm bringing out groceries to Mountain Man Jack and I have to tell him we didn't have two of his products. Guess what they were."

"Hmmm... Let's see.... I'm guessing beer and toilet paper?"

"I wish! I had to tell this guy we didn't have his corn cobs and Astroglide."

"Yikes!"

If I could have been a fly on the wall to see that conversation.....

I often wonder what it would be like to have a 'fun' job, a job that I didn't go home from each and every day stressed out and emotionally drained.

Working, single mom kind of takes away that option.

The jobs that enough support yourself and your offspring usually come with high expectation, large amounts of stress, and a lot of responsibility.

Wouldn't it be nice, though.... work just get out of the house.... And not have worry about the money aspect of all.

Perhaps one day....

That has to be the funniest title to a blog post I’ve ever read. So thank you for that. I happen to love what I do, my career suits my personality pretty well and I love the daily challenges. That being said, I would love the flexibility to just work when I wanted to, especially during the summer when I’d love to just chill at the beach everyday.
I LOVE the beach... If I could find a job that would allow me the flexibility to go to the beach every day in the summer, it'd be my dream job. Hands down....

Kudos to you, though! For finding a job that you love! There are a lot of people out there that never do.

yeah, when the money has to come in, there are choices that we've already made in order to make those ends meet

    on the bright side

I'd love to be a "high" paid courier to take "precious" cargo anywhere in the world... have passport will travel

a food taster at new restaurants, "show me the money"

movie critic, I saw a movie in Kansas City once, where I was the only person in the audience that recognized that the movie reels had been messed up. I walked out and got my money back. no one else noticed

    have a great Sinday

    hmm

    Alicia Keys - "Good Job"

You're the engine that makes all things go
And you're always in disguise, my hero
I see your light in the dark
Smile in my face when we all know it's hard
There's no way to ever pay you back
Bless your heart, know I love you for that
    Honest and selfless
I don't know if this helps it but
    Good Job
You're doing a good job, a good job
    You're doing a good job
    Don't get too down
    The world needs you now
    Know that you matter
    Matter, matter yeah
My fun job would be writing.... I'd like to travel and write about my experiences. The people I saw, sights I experienced.... I would love, love to be able to do that!

I'm wondering what's going on up there that causes a store to be out of corn cobs and ass-troglide.
I'd say... Too much time sheltering at home because of COVID-19.

I'm one of those people too.... when I was married, the ex husband always said 'you don't need to worry about that. You have me.' Yah, I didn't worry and now there is no him.

I am dying laughing trying to picture being a "secret" curbside shopper and even getting these two items on the list!! When I on-line shop/pick up curbside I have been told in an email before I go what it missing- sometimes they even offer some substitution suggestion. Your friend have a great job- keeps the chuckles coming
She enjoys it quite a bit! Lol. The shoppers are required to go over the items not "picked" as the payment part doesn't happen til the customer gets to the store. I've heard some pretty funny stories from the world of curbside shopping.
