I closed my eyes for a second....

I closed my eyes for a second....

I didn't sleep well last night and ended up with a hell of a headache today.

You know the kind....

The kind of headache that you just KNOW from the bottom of your heart if you could just squeeze in a tiny little nap you would be a million times better.

So I decided to close my eyes for just a second on my lunch today....

I was sitting at a break room table and put my head down, resting my forehead on my arm, eyes closed.

Damn if that didn't feel amazing!

So amazing that, before I even knew what was happening, one of my coworkers was gently waking me up, asking if I was feeling ok.

"Hey.... You doing ok?"

"Um..... "

I lifted my head and slowly surveyed my surroundings.

Where in the hell was I....

"Um..... Am I at work?"

Yep, stumbling over my words too. Don't know about you guys, but when I first wake up, pretty much a zombie.

Especially if I haven't woken up on my own.

", don't hate me, but... You were snoring a little."

Ugh....

"If I weren't half asleep still, I'd be horrified."

I somehow managed to finish the rest of my work day with my head up and eyes open but the minute I got home from work tonight it was nap time for me!

I can't even express how much better I felt after getting a little sleep in.

I miss the days when I could sleep all night....

I miss the days when it was possible for me to sleep until noon.....

I just miss uninterrupted sleep in general.

Damn getting old is a bitch.

I have to have 8 hours sleep no matter what time I go to bed now that im retired.
when I worked i'ld live on 7 hour sleep 8 hr work some time 11hr. around 2 pm i'ld take a power nap for 15 minutes. one hour of travel time round trip, once I got home i'ld still be going doing something head to bed around 11.
now with winter I deal with lots of snow hear in NY after I get done I head in get out of my wet clothing and lay down till I feel rested. I may sleep or I just relax.
I never have trouble getting to sleep and no trouble with sleep. even if the dogs get me up in the middle of the nit to go out. I get up let them out ill use the bathroom and then let them back in. I head back to bed and off to dream land.
I seam to wake up around the same time each day yet lay in bed reading blogs and what ever else happens from who and what I read. then it stretching time and im ready for a full day. hope ou can sleep tonight xoxoxxo
When I was younger, I needed 9 or 10 hours of sleep or I was a zombie.... I would sleep all day if I could. Loved my sleep!! Then I became a mom, and, babies kind of ruin all that. Suddenly your eagle ears hear every little thing that happens during the night and you're doing midnight feedings with screaming infants.

I had a snore app on my phone that recorded me sleeping.... That was eye opening! I snore a LOT and didn't even know it. The snoring is partly due to my sinus issues, and partly because I'm usually completely exhausted when I do end up falling asleep at night. Ain't that an attractive quality in a gal??

My leg is doing fine! Back to normal... It had a pretty ugly bruise going on but healed surprisingly quickly.

A lot of people don't take slleep serious enough!! Sleep is when your body repairs itself! I work a second shift schedule and allow myself to slleep till I wake up!! Hope yours gets better!!!
This morning I was able to fall back to sleep and sleep in until 7:45, which was nice! My internal clock usually wakes me up at 5:30.... I'm hoping that eventually I'll be able to get a decent, regular sleep pattern again.

Even as a kid I didn't usually sleep through the night. I'd have to get up to go to the bathroom. Now I have to do that several times. And even if I don't have to get up, I'm not always asleep. I just stay in bed and hope I'll go back to sleep. Sometimes it works...other times, not so much.
Yes, getting old is a bitch! lol
I've given up on trying to fall back to sleep now. I'll get up, turn on the tv, catch up on the blogs, read my email, text.... I usually get tired and fall back to sleep at 3:30 and sleep until I have to get up at 5:30, which kind of sucks a little, but it's just what happens now.

I used to live for my naps, but now I can rarely get a good one. I do like dozing in my chair and just getting to those odd little thoughts and then jerking myself awake and remembering those weird little dreams.
I still love my naps. Wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket, nice fluffy pillow, soft music playing... I rarely dream during a nap. I don't think I'm asleep long enough.

It's been a while since I've felt that exhausted at work. I chalk it up to a long week, a lot of stress, and having my Work BFF tell me on Friday that he'd handed in his resignation that morning. It was actually a little emotional, he teared up and we hugged it out when I told him I'd miss him, he'd been one of my first work friends. It's not going to be the same without him.

Last time I slept 'til noon, I was a teenager.
Having kids and working night jobs are probably the reason I have such bad sleep issues. When my daughter was tiny, I would work until midnight, get home and be up trying to wind down until around 2 or 3 am, then have to get up and be alert and ready to take care of a 2 year old at 8 or 9 am.

I'm definitely a napper.... Always have been, always will be. I do love to sleep, I just can't seem to be able to sleep through the night anymore. At my old job I got an hour for lunch and would sit in my car sometimes and rest my eyes. You're right about the power naps... They can be just what you need in a pinch.

When I'm tired, I'm the same way. I can fall asleep pretty much the moment I close my eyes. I've actually fallen asleep while in the middle of a sentence before, no joke.

I often go to bed around midnight and drift off okay until I'm woken with the pain in my foot.
It varies, but usually about five or six in the morning, is when it happens.
I get about 3 hours of sleep under my belt then I'm wide awake. Never fails... I'm not sure why.

I can sleep anywhere, lol. I need more sleep than the average bear, I think. The worst thing about having to work is not being able to nap.
When I'm tired, I can fall asleep anywhere. My problem is staying asleep. I do sleep better when I'm not sleeping alone... But, being single, I always sleep alone. LOL
