Superstitions and Fears #35

At first I didn't remember any superstitions or fears. But then they started coming back to me. In my adolescence, there was a couple of things of which I was fearful. My brother and I and two of our friends went to see the movie "The Exorcist", when we were in high school; when it first came out back in the 70s. That was probably the one movie that scared me to death. Something about being possessed by the devil was very frightening. Probably because of my Catholic upbringing. My parents putting the fear God in us about the devil and hell.
And that leads me to the other thing that scared me even more. Some show I watched talk about how evil spirits could possess you between the hours of 2 AM and 3 AM in the morning. For some reason I couldn't let go of that thought. And it would haunt me. If I just so happen to wake up around that time in the morning, I would be paralyzed with fear.

I had the same reaction to The Amityville Horror. Slept with my Mom for two nights after I read the book, lol.
I read this book that scared me. It's called "23 minutes in hell" by Bill Wiese. Thanks for the comment.

    2-3 am?

Which time zone? Hopefully not Eastern Daylight ..
It was Pacific daylight time, when I was living in California.

We definitely did think differently back in those days. But I do remember some kids that were sitting by us watching the movie that thought the movie was funny. I can remember hearing them laughing throughout the movie. I also have a friend who took his kids to see that movie, and his kids just thought the movie was really funny and were not scared at all.
