Genetic alteration

The year is 2056. I have my procedure today. But first I want to stop off at my grandfather's to say hello. I knock at his door. As usual he is quick to respond. He greets me with a smile and a hearty are you ready. I tell him yes that I can't wait to experience the change in myself. He tells me how back in his day there were just hormonal and surgical alterations n of this fancy genetic stuff you got going on now a days. We had lunch and then I was off to my appointment. It was a genetic alteration. I arrived at my appointment. I was a little nervous. We lived in the State of Colorado of the Independent States of America. Back in the 2040's the United States became the Independent States of America with each State independent of the other. Autonomous in how they govern themselves and the laws they choose to pass.

Colorado was of the more progressive States that legalized genetic alteration. There were a number of procedures you could have. There are gender types sexual orientations you could choose from. Your traditional male and female. And your transgender male and transgender female. I was choosing to transgender into a female. A transgender male is a female who wishes to transgender into a male but keeping her female genitalia and a transgender female is a male who wishes to transgender into a female but keeping his male genitalia. You could also if you are a female change into a male and if you are male change into a female. There was no more of these hormonal and surgical procedures that took place back in the early 2000's. Everything was d by genetic alteration. Any kind of illness disease or injury as well.

Our State of Colorado had also passed laws giving its citizens free housing free medical treatment and free food. Citizens were free to come and go from the State if they did or did not want to participate in its programs.
