Weird and fun at the same time..

I have lived on my property for about 30 years now...and my place is in the country and approximately 40 acres, quiet and reasonably pretty.I live alone now as my husband passed away three years ago, i have adopted and or fostered a large of , right from mice to a buffalo, ( he was an over nighter) travelling to a new home out in the Western Provinces ...long story ...lol
I have seen about all the as one can see here in NS...the most funny encounters to the more scary ones...like i said mice, rats ,cats , , horses, coyotes, skunks, bobcat , snakes , weasels , mink , beaver ( no not kind ) geese, peacocks, bear deer and one moose .....so on and so forth..I also had a humming bird come into my old pantry yesterday and what a job to get it out..I had black birds in my attic ? wtf? how did they get in there? hmmm skull duggery afoot? maybe....
I rescued them and set them outside where the bird carefully aided them away from the house...happy reunion for sure..
I came home one day alot of years ago to find a tied in my back yard yet when i asked the neighbors no one seemed to see anything ....hmmmm another mystery ...I did eventually find the owner , long story again..
I went for a walk in the acre woodland here and came face to face with a bear...oops was an experience...bears have poor eyesight but good hearing..i stayed where i was very quietly and he or she sauntered away...
So what kind of experience or experiences have you had with an animal? Did you expect or not expect chance meeting?
I have a skunk does its rounds about once a month and leaves his calling card , he most generally comes when the porcupine is eating new grass on my back lawn, Kodi my cat sits on the window sill and tries to talk to them ...lol

I managed a forty acre estate..Over a twenty year career I’ve seen a few odd things..I’ve been “trapped” in my truck by two relentless Turkeys, watched the beauty of a birds first flight as well as a squirrel being blind sighted from a tree by a large Hawk.. and still wonder what animal tore off the hind quarter off a large deer..no, we don’t have bears here..Just like a scene from Cops, I’ve watched a police car pursuit cut through the property then have a Police Helicopter land in our field..a lot louder on the ground..No two days we’re alike that’s for certain.

lol wow sure thats a topper ..mountain lion will tear a big chunk out of a deer or maybe a big cat of some kind will and several small animals will at once ..its odd for any big animal to leave a kill though..unless the deer died of natural causes and animals ravaged the carcass over time..hard to say ..but you have a very interesting job...thanks

I was woke up by my phone telling me I had a voicemail. 2-3 am in the morning. I have real poor cell service and had to walk out into the middle of the driveway to get a signal. Sleeping nude and living a quarter mile off a gravel road I didn't worry about putting anything on. I hear something behind me and I thought it was a cat. Got to the light from the dusk to Dawn light and it was 3 little skunks following me. Ha ha

Anything worth doing is worth doing right

We are on 10 acres... have seen wild bore, whitetail deer, fox, coyotes, snakes, scorpions, tarantulas, racoons, possum, squirrel, geese (flying low heading north... ), and the typical stray cats and dogs. Haven't seen skunk but they have left there scent!
So far nothing strange... just average sightings.

I have a friend in TX who runs an air conditioning business with some guys and he is an avid hunter wild boar is on he hunts on a regular basis with his friends and he sends me pic of some of the stuff he does kill...birds galore and a few other animals..i know wild pigs are plentiful down there ...I think thats amazing though when anyone sees animals where ever they live because alot of years from now they will be gone for good..thanx

A few years back... during a bad drought.... wild bore where cumming up to the near subdivisions for water.
Some had irrigation systems for their lawns and the bore were grabbing the spinkler heads and ripping them out of the ground... pvc piping and all. Thousands of dollars in damage.
The homeowners got together and hired trappers to capture (covenants and restrictions resticted hunting.)
