Re-Tyer scares the beguses out of me. my toys are packed 3 states and 1 provenience away. To re-tyre i need to return to a place left many years ago or freight a bunch of belongings away from a place i left. Fortuitously, the people that send me money for showing up tend not to look at 65 when firing over performers.

The trick isdefinetly keeping the mind going and the body if you can.

“For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen.”

Good morning to you. I think staying busy with something you want to do is a big key to being retired. If you just stop everything, and put your feet up in an easy chair, then go ahead and pick out your burial suit.
I am retired from the USAF, the county I live in, and have worked at several other jobs, none of which provided any retirement. I have pursued some education. I have a BS degree, and two Master's degrees. I quit my last job two days before I turned 73, because I found it was taking all my time (12 hours each week day). I bought an experimental airplane, and am now taking flying lessons. I have my own airstrip and my own place to keep my airplane here at home.
If you want to keep working, then do it. I think retirement is what you make of it. The think I miss most about working is the regular paycheck!!!!

If you quit your job two days before you turned 73, why does your profile say you are 68?
