Thought, I'd endulge my narcissism briefly, if you're game for hearing some arbitrary highlights from this loathsome low life.

I was born in a small town in northern Saskatchewan, the eldest of a brood of four. We were raised on our reservation, far from any modern trappings, like internet or recreational spending. Life wasn't simple, it wasn't hard, but it wasn't easy. So often is the case on Earth, we found ourselves neither well off, nor in dire straits. On rare occasions we went hungry, never for long though. For the most part, we were looked after in everyway that would consitute a "normal" upbringing- normal for the location anyways.

Winters were long, summers were too short, and the weather was never entirely without complaint. It was the kind of place a person could hear flies fuck. Despite the rural setting, I carried myself with the false preconceptions that I knew everything i needed to know about what little I could percieve. In the to follow, that arrogance would spell no shortage of hard lessons to be learned, I digress.

My siblings and i were the toast of our then, rather large extended family. being the of two atheletes, and the grandchildren of "spiritual" leaders meant that there was a chip on our shoulders before we were even born. We were raised with traditions dating back to time immemorial, along with some experience in hunting, fishing, trapping, and cooking. The outdoors were our backyard,. The prtairies strectched for miles in either direction of our reservation, in stark contrast to our little slice of civilization.

Following our sudden departure from this humble homestead we were moved to Saskatoon, a somewhat big town calling itself a city. Life changed drastically in pace, as if you had to run just to stand still. The vehicles kept me up at night, to say nothing for the noises of so many drunk passerbyers, neighbors are best kept at arms length. In time this change in lifestyle became the norm. the small town mentallity slowly faded, yet there was always a yearning for the wild untamed woodlands.

Education didn't go well for me, despite the damed nobel efforts of so many would be teachers. there's no teaching a smartass with an answer for everything. Against my better judgement, i dropped out of highschool in favor of part time work flipping burgers. Several times i'd go back to school, to make a fool of myself, to drop out again...to 'borrow' text books. i liked reading, i hated being graded.

At some point these idle hands decided to with something aside from my own cock. i picked up a bass guitar, then a flute, then piano, then electric guitar, then a couple of drum sticks. no musician, but if there's one thing any man knows, it's how to with themselves.

that's all i care to share at the moment. thank you for reading. i'd like to hear more about you, reading comments on this blog has become a highlight of my day. i apologize if i don't respond. have a nice day.

Reading this post is the highlight of MY day. Beautifully told! You write with an easily flowing style that's delightful to read and soothing to the ear. Yeah, I read it out loud to myself. Please CDb, may I have some more?

I too love to read your blog. Your descriptions are bang on and allow my mind to picture everything. Carry on. I grew up in a very VERY small town in Manitoba, and while I often miss my hometown, I am certainly glad to be in the city at this point. Maybe someday I may move back out to the country when work is done (when I am old and grey lol).

Thank you so much for the kind words and sharing a lil bout yourself. It means a lot. i always wanted to write, but i never wanted to be known for writing, if that makes sense lol. it's kinda cool having a tiny reader base, but i dislike attention so this blog has been fun for me. ^.^ im happy the tiny handful of people that read these enjoy them as i like writing them. i like reading more than writing. thanks again for the comment and kind words ^.^
