On robes. Go figure? Searched every ad in yesterdays newspaper. Doing so brought back memories from the past of me looking at the Christmas wish book Sears used to send out. Well, Sears is no longer in business, and I haven't seen a wish list book since the seventies. Not to mention that in all the ads I scanned yesterday none..not a one had an offer for a bathrobe for sale. I found that odd. Sure there were ads for lounge pants, T-shirts etc. But no robes. It's like they stopped making them, or something? I know they haven't, just that stores don't push them in the ads anymore. I hate hunting for things in stores, and no way am I going out today or anytime this weekend to do so. Shopping during an after Thanksgiving sale is right up there with talking with my ex wife. Something I try to avoid if I can. I'd write Santa and ask him to get me a new robe, but like the Sears Christmas Wish Book, Santa stopped coming around my place sometime back in the seventies as well.

I will have to go to the store eventually I know. The grand kids Christmas shopping still to do yet. But I'll wait a bit to do so till all the hoopla settles down. I always have a plan whenever I do shop. I know what I'm going in for, get it and I'm out again just as quick. No browsing for me and if I can't find the item I want at one store I'll call ahead to another to see if they have the item in stock before I venture off to get it there. As for what I get form my two sons and my daughter for Christmas? Easy, cash tucked into a nice Christmas card for them. Yeah, I know giving cash sounds so Grinch like, but lets face it...it works. Rather than me buying them something they don't want or can't use with my gift they can get what they want, or need. Perhaps pay a bill, or their rent for the month. My eldest would use his gift to take his brother and sister along with myself and the grand kids out to a nice restaurant for dinner with his gift from me when he came home for the holiday. Made it much easier on him as well as he didn't have to pack so much stiff ( IE gifts ) in his suitcases. Hey, the system works for us..and there is less wrapping paper to clean up on Christmas mornings that way.

I have got my last two robes at JC Penny's. Have got them at their brick and mortar stores.

Yeah, they would have them if no one else would for sure. But when I checked their ad yesterday they had had none in there. I don't know maybe robes are going the way of the eight track tape. Have a good one.

I bought a couple robes a few years back and had to order online thru wally world. Had them shipped to the house.

I'll give a look see when I'm out shopping for the grands next week. Last time I checked wally world for a robe the clerk looks at me like I was speaking Vulcan when I asked her where they might have them in the store. She didn't have a clue to what I was talking about, or if they carried them. Pointed me in the general direction of the men's department and walked away. Have a good one
