needy rookie questions again...

I am still seeking feedback and answers to my rookie questions. My first blog entry had a lot of viewers (wow) even though I didn’t use the magic “extra comment” to get it posted correctly (my thanks to the member who alerted me to that – appreciated!!).
The urgency, if there was any is off – the special for membership has expired (at least it no longer pops up when I log in). And I hope I am not violating any rule or norm by asking these questions – if I am, pls let me know.
SO my big question today is am I missing something as a standard member? It seems to allow me to read blogs, look at hot photos, search but only see bits of profiles, but doesn’t allow me to communicate with anyone. I have looked on the site but am unable to get any other info, even though some members who appear standard talk about their experience meeting folks on the site.
And I am good at missing stuff that’s right in front of me, so I won’t be embarrassed if that’s the case.

 To be able to read messages and send you have to pay. If you did pay for a membership but the person you wrote didnt they cant read and response. That is unless you a paying member or the person who wrote yoi a paying memer paid extra. People meet from the chat rooms. There is other ways to give contact information without paying but it's against the tos so I will not say how. So many mistake the free to join with free to use the features. Once they find out its not how they whine about it. Not saying you are. They also whine about free stuff being cut down on or limited. This is a business. The whinners expect free stuff. How can this site stay in business if give so much?
Humans are the most dangerous animals on earth.

If only animals had the ability to know when to keep away from us humans they would be better off.

 You can collect site points (some bloggers have giveaways) and use those to view profiles (the text parts, not the pics) and/or communicate via IM or inbox.

To create a Private Mailbox...
You simply create a new blog post where the privacy settings for the comments are marked "I want to pre-review... all responses before they show up." That way, only you - as the blog owner - can read the comments.
And when you reply to the comment you opt for "Respond" (not "Quote") so only the comment owner can read your response to their specific comment.
It also helps if you pin this post to the top of your blog.
