Summertime Peach

Summertime has passed and my mind wanders back
back in time when my senses were filled
filled from the lovely peach tree in my own<b> backyard
</font></b>if only I could go back again and pluck that exquisite fruit
dangling from its branch so utterly perfect in form
rounded, smooth, soft, oh how I long clench it in my hand
and gaze at its tones of crimson and blush
its beautiful leaves cascading down, framing this alluring picture
I long to raise it to my mouth and let my lips touch its flesh
its velvety smoothness enrapturing my mind
its juices flowing over my lips, dripping down
covering my face with its sticky sweetness
with just enough tart to make it exciting to the palate
I want to savor each bite and let it fill my senses
I want to go back in time and feast upon that peach
