Hiking/Backpacking

So I have a customer who is a overnight hiker. He has hiked several segments of the Appalachian Trail. My cousins have talked about trying it in the future. So I have been acquiring gear required to hike and do overnight backpacking. I now have the basics, enough to give it a try. Most likely I will do a overnight hike in Western PA to test out my equipment. I am sure there will be other items that will be needed for convenience.

So far I have :

A backpack
Tent
Portable Bruner
Water purification device
Insulated self inflating sleeping bag pad
Sleeping bag

Total weight so far is about 18 pounds .
Have you tried it? Thought about trying it? Experienced and can suggest other items that would be helpful purchase?

ciao dipende tutto dal percorso che vuoi effettuare , comunque io frequento spesso la montagna e ti consiglio un kit di pronto soccorso , coltellino svizzero , accendino , power bank per il telefono , barrette energetiche .... buona passeggiata

Yes. Some usual additions to the backpack.

Yes. I do have a Garmin GPS, compass and will take maps of the area. I will look into some type of emergency communication device, but I will not be backpacking alone. Also will communicate my travel plans and timing. Have the suggested lights . Thanks

Thanks for the extras. English English is my main language with an educational background in French during high school and a couple of courses in college . Based on that, I think I see a power bank for my phone and a first aid kit. I will translate the rest. Retired ski patroller here so I do have some first aid supplies. Always useful to have some first aid supplies.
