Sometimes I'm too obscure even for myself. There's a band you've never heard of from the mid to late 90's called Stir, and the radio track they had explains about half of my title. Anyway, enough about me XD

It's a commercial. You know it. I know it. But it's a PERSONAL commercial, so it's actually a non-celebrity endorsement. This is stuff I like. You might like it. if not, NHNF; if so, I KNEW you were smarter than I looked!

We're gonna roll out in calendar order.

This very night! August 7th. 8pm, very special Pan with guest Joe Virus from the late great recently relocated Church. Start off at SonofSam's twitchstream and it should raid you over between the usual suspects, and Joe's on between & .

Tomorrow the 8th is another Louisiana Saturday Night (get down your fiddle and get down your bow) because Fred of my very own dearest Cowboy Mouth is acoustic again. I've been a superfan since the 90's when I was playing these guys (and Dash Rip Rock) in college radio, and I just love them bits. 7:30p their fbk page.

Tuesday the th is Capt. Henry Martin of the Crimson Pirates doing some shanties on the Digital Ren Faire fbk page. My experience with the CP is limited; they appeared at my home faire one season and did a show with the Corsairs and it was a fantastic piratey hoedown But I love shanties and pirate bands so ya can't go wrong! That's 7p.

You folks in my age bracket should love this one, Disco vs Retro on the th at 9p. Lord Byron from Pan is the host so it's his twitchstream.

And last but not least, if you find yourself into the goth and darkwave I've inflicted on you previously, best of Byron at 8p on the 18th. It's gonna basically be a lot of classics, so I'll be dancing all over the house

Give it a whirl, . You never know what might grab you XD

I never know what and how AdultFriendFinder is going to truncate or butcher or fold/spindle/mutilate my posts, and it never seems to be the same way twice when I look at the same post, so if it has errors, give it the same side-eye I am because you know how it goes.

Maybe don't someone for the first time and immediately give your face, phone, , and name a fancy restaurant while suggesting a meeting?

You don't know a person
They could be a psycho
They could be dangerous
They could be awful

I've heard horror stories about people showing dates that are much older than they said they were, with varying levels of deviation from their pictures including and especially singling out dental care. I've heard horror stories about the invitee in question inviting a bunch of other people to show and expecting the inviter foot the bill for of it.

Literally, you do not know . Let say it louder for the people in the back: YOU DO NOT KNOW . Don't assume people have your best interests at heart. Some people might, but more people don't. Namedropping a fancy restaurant makes me suspicious of you because you're showing off and it doesn't impress me, but if you're sincerely that naive, then o my sweet dear hunty, we gotta change your strategy before you get screwed, and not in the good way.

lulz I don't know why I feel like I should advocate for the innocent around here, but I just do. I want y' be happy.

Except the guy I blogged about, he can get fireants in his armpits and chigger bites over his dick for I care.
more of that grownup nonsense

I got an email this morning notifying of questionable activity on the credit card that I use for this site. Questionable indeed Obviously you don't follow links in purportedly official emails; you go directly the website in question and log in with your normal process.

Logged in and there are no account alerts and nothing in the inbox. Fake email, and a very good one. Usually when you hover the mouse over the hyperlinks you can see the wackadoo redirect, but this one had official looking redirects. I forwarded it the requested address from the credit card processor for reporting fraudulent emails.

It concerns because someone somewhere was able sniff out which credit card I am using for this site, including having the last 4 digits of the number. I went ahead and changed my password something insanely complicated, and made sure I had security questions in place.

Protip: Don't use real answers those questions. People who know you can hack your accounts, and don't think they won't. I've seen wives clean out the guys I work with right before they leave them. So if the question is something like "mother's maiden name," put something utterly ridic, preferably just as complicated as a password should be. This site doesn't have 2-factor authentication so you might not know someone's gotten into your account until it's too late.

Secure your acct and more importantly, watch your credit cards so you can limit the damage ASAP.

You nice trusting folks gotta be careful because users have radar for people like you.
Trust no one! Okay, maybe that's a bridge too far.

Let's start with . I'm cynical. It doesn't preclude merriness or cheerful irreverence, but I'm a deep dark dismal cynic. Bad behavior at the hands of hooman beans taught me care, caution, paranoia, suspicion, and the five-dollar words you could ever want supply.

I don't want talk about , however (INORITE?)...I want talk about y'.

I've chatted with kinds of people this site, and it's the prototypical "middle aged and stuck in a dead marriage" person that concerns the most. They're usually super nice people who are missing a little human contact, both physical and mental. They miss seeing themselves as interesting and important and likeable and lovable through someone else's eyes. Everybody wants be liked and have a little connection sometimes, don't they?

It's the seeking nature that makes these folks vulnerable, methinks. I'll cite a specific example: Someone I chatted with on the site for a few days switched off with me chatting a popular , and they used their everyday email address, which contained their first and last name.

AdultFriendFinder gives you kinds of warnings and helpful hints avoid scammers and catfishers, but it doesn't address batshit crazy.

I've dealt with batshit crazy. Taken out restraining orders against it, apartment hopped get away from it, moved a whole state away escape it. We're talking "Fatal Attraction" and "The Crush" kind of crazy.

Batshit crazy is cold and calculating and a long-game. I do a little bit of skip tracing in my job, so I'll tell you why that's important.

If I know your name, I can find:
Your address including satellite & street level views
Your birthdate & driver lic #
The names of anyone else at your address
Their birthdates & driver lic #s
The value of your house per your county's appraisal district
Any civil records you possess including marriage and divorce records
Any criminal records you possess
Your voter registration
Past addresses

And if I see a car in your drive and get the plate number I can get the entire vehicle record.

Please be careful, y', Nice people don't think of this kind of thing because they've never had . I'd prefer you never have . Make an email specifically use the dating sites you're part of, and safeguard yourselves. Be smart. <3
