My mother was always saying stuff like that to me when ever she thought I was doing something reckless. ( Like climbing a tree when I shouldn't be ) Sometimes the body part changed...as in If you fall off that skateboard and break your neck.... Hearing her say such things always made me laugh a bit. The irony of it all, not being able to run to her for help with a broken leg, struck me as funny.

I guess it was just her way of telling me I was being foolish and taking risks that I shouldn't be taking. Letting me know that the choice I made for doing something that my cause injury or harm, was my own choice, and that I'd have to live with the results of my actions. Oh, and I've never fallen out of a tree in case you happen to be wondering, I did take a header off my skateboard a few times but the worse thing that ever happened was skinning my knees.

Your probably wondering why the trip down memory lane , huh? Well the advise Mom gave to me came suddenly back as I was watching the news a few nights ago. The story involved some one on the mend in the hospital, recovering from the bug that's been plaguing the world of late. As it is with most cases these days the person on the mend, was touting the fact that he should have gotten the vaccine when he could have. But, for what ever reason never did. Wishing this were different and had if he the opportunity knowing now what would transpire that he'd have made a different choice in the matter. Hind site is twenty - twenty they say. Meaning we see clearly the errors of our ways once the shite has hit the fan.

As hospital ER's are again filling up...people who aren't recovering from this bug .. it boggles my mind to think there are folks out there who still can't see the light. And by their own choice opt not to do something that can prevent the virus from taking hold and perhaps end their life. ( yes I know getting the shot doesn't mean you won't get the virus, but in getting the vaccine science has proven that if you do get it your chances would be much better if you haven't gotten the shots ) But hey, we live in a free country, the choice is yours.. Nobody is twisting your arm. You need to do what you think is best for you. But in the back of my mind I can still hear my Mother saying..."If you fall out of that tree and break your leg, don't come running to me."

Time to hop into my shower now....

It certainly is getting to be; Total BS, brought on by those Not vaccinating and numbers on the rise again !! Those that Don't Vaccinate have Blinders On & Don't care too see what their decision is doing too others !! Significant Other is what they called, Essential , being that she works at a Major Grocery Chain. With the rise; Corporate has once again, Mandated, that ALL employees will wear masks in the Store 😡🤬 Once again regardless of their decision be it Good or Bad, their choose !!! The Fail too see the Impact on others !!🤬🤠

I take this to an extreme level. If they say a hurricane or wild fire is coming, you need to evacuate. And you choose to stay. First responders will be pulling back and you will be left on your own, at your choosing, until the storm or fire passes. Once it is safe, first responders will return to the area. Maybe the person is alive and maybe not.
That being said, I think people need to be allowed to evacuate with their pets. Or rather they need to get out with their pets at the first request. I will live in my truck with my dogs rather than leave them behind. And I will leave to save them.

I couldn't agree with you more. I remember watching the aftermath of Katrina and the pets left behind, dogs mostly standing on roof tops waiting for someone to come save them. If faced with a similar situation I'd take my pet with me regardless, and don't see why anyone would leave one behind. Though I think that after the above mention storm that agency's like the A.S.P.C.A. and the Humane Society stepped up and helped with transport of pets and housing. Even going as far as aiding with farm animals, horses and the like.

Have a good one Pony...
