Afterthought: I wonder how many people will read the title of this post and expect an x-rated discourse! I should be more careful with titles!

When I read the title, I thought you meant the King and the Whopper...as in Burger King! ... I haven't been to Burger King in over a decade. LOL
Now about your post....you are right we have all lost our privace. Part of the problem is no matter how hard you try, we are often behind the curve on privacy settings. By the time we learn how someone, often corporations like GOOGLE, is invading our privacy, all we can do is stop the damage; our privacy is already out the window.
Of course, when the IRS can't even stop hacking, our SS#s, family kin, and everything about us is compromised.

Privacy? There is no such thing anymore. Technology has taken away any privacy you once had. We carry tracking devices with us, also known as our cell phone. I'm not personally bothered by it, but our privacy is gone for good.

I started using online dating sites about a year after my husband of 32 years passed away. Talk about a paradigm shift! I think back to all the hustles and lies I was told by men on those sites ... now I take a much more jaded and cynical approach to messages I get from men on sites such as the one we're on.

Privacy ... it's in short supply, although loss of it is almost totally our own faults, IMO, due to our total online social presence. It's a calculated risk, no doubt.

X-rated discourse? I was hoping for a funny story involving a date and a burger. (I think I'm hungry)

Nice post. I often mourn the loss of my personal privacy, not comfortable with people being able to access my life. Google search is a double edged sword, on one hand it is useful for validating someone's identity or the truth in a post but it also allows people to research a subject enough to fabricate a believable story.

I admit, I was expecting a naughty joke.

You prompted me to search my screen name. It shows only my activities here (as this is the only place I use this handle). Interestingly, none of the returns were for the site I am signed up for, but for at least 3 of the sites under the Various banner. I did know that the blogs showed up in all of the Various owned sites.

On the contrary

I need something to catch my fancy

as I'm particular about who I read and what I comment on, and, so on, and so forth

however, thanks for sharing

yes, nothing is private

but, here we are

searching for that prince or Cinderella or voluptuous heavenly creature, or that circus clown...

BTW, I tried the "Impossible" burger the other day

I was quite impressed

buyer beware, I always say

reminded me of this

Elton John - "Princess"

Haven't you heard what's new?
There is a rumor
Going around that suddenly I've found you
Better believe it's true
I got a feeling
This is for real and nobody else will do
You are my princess
You make me smile
You make my life seem worthwhile
You are my princess
You are the one
You make the sun shine on me
You're one fine lady
You're my princess
You're my princess

bbuckwwheat I think it's a good choice to limit the use of a handle to one site as a way of staying anonymous. Thanks for reading!

easy_going2014 I was surprised to see the part of your reply about the "impossible burger". I'm a vegetarian so you'd think I would be one of the first in line to try it, but I guess I was a little skeptical. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Love this post, your writing style and use of metaphor.

It goes without saying that our world grows more perilous with each passing day. Good on you for pursuing due diligence. If nothing else, it avoids a lot of wasted effort on people who are (to say the least) uncomfortable in their own skin.

To be sure, we're part of the last generation to know authentic *privacy*. I share your grieving and find myself at Stage 6 - reconstruction and working though.

Yes, your post-title was *click-bait*, but your blogs are smart and engaging; as is my custom, I only glanced at the headline before diving in!

Thanks for stopping by, justaguyinalaska. My apologies about the click-bait. I do like to use creative post names but never intend to be deceptive. I actually started the naming process by thinking of the word "prince" and was reminded of the novel "The Prince and the Pauper". Pauper ... Whopper ... you get it! I didn't realize until after I hit "post" that my post-title could sound like an ad for BK or worse yet the name of a porn flick! lol

Have a great day!
