Young Men

Maybe I am just getting old or maybe jaded but the way young men speak to women is concerning me. By young I am meaning 18 -30 year old males. I am totally fed up by blunt, crude offensive one line messages from them. What is most disturbing is many seem totally bemused and surprised when I reply stating how offensive they are. Now of course I have the option not to reply but I am no "shrinking violet" and if I see something wrong I say so. If women just ignore ignorance we are just tolerating and accepting that ignorance. I do not accept that if some one offends me I have to just accept it.

Am I turning into a grumpy old woman or is insisting on manners and civilised behavior worth the effort?

You thoughts?

I answer them with the question " would you go up to a lady in a bar and say that?"
The usual answer is no.. so then I ask " why do you think it's acceptable on here then?"
They are usually chagrined and apologise,,, some say.." sorry, can we start again?"
Errrr no.. we can;t

I find it's most men...not necessarily 'young' who do that.
Since this is a sex-centric site, most believe that anything goes.
It's up to us to let them know what is acceptable or not and most of the time you get push back.
I tend to just ignore.

There's a whole generation of cyber cowards out there...They haven't a clue how to one on one with people face to face...Really a shame...

I am with you. I cant just accept silently, I have to let the person know that they have been disrespectful or rude. However I see this not only on this site but on the street or at the lounge. Idk about it being mostly young man. I have gotten about an even share of man up in their late 30-40's I don't see it as distasteful on this site, because this is mainly a sex site. Man are looking for quick sex, which is what this site offers. Woman can say a lot of stuff about not liking it but a lot of woman have these fantasy and once you entered the site, you enter at your own risk. Its like be prepare its anything goes. If someone messages me something I don't like sometimes I just delete especially if it has no profile picture.

The internet is famous for disinhibition of crass and crude remarks. Most people would not spout the nasty and racist things that are frequently expressed in comments on the internet, if they were face to face with a real person.

Part of the reason for rampant bad acts is that there are usually no adverse consequences to such acts on the internet. In real life you can get slapped or worse for rudeness.

So good for you for wasting the energy trying to educate rude youth. My guess life will educate them if they survive long enough to learn.

You are absolutely correct for putting immature punks in their place! Well done young lady!

And yes, you are doing them a service (whether they know it or not) in taking the time to reply.

There is a perception about this site... especially amongst younger men... that sex is pretty much handed out without the need to build a raport or relationship of some sort. Naturally, this is compounded from modern day porn which often times portray women as being one dimensional whores that only want and think about one thing: getting fucked. And guess where many young men are getting their sex lessons from?

Finally, some of these guys might not have a life... or an off balance life (they might be stuck in the cubicle all day for example).. And if you don't engage in some form of activity that gives you a sense of self validation to re-balance your life... well, in combination with everything else I have mentioned... you have a perfect storm for what you are currently experiencing.

When men screw with women's heads with quasi interest
and flirting to finally get what their after and never talk or see you again.
It kind of begs the question, were these guys hitting on older women in their youth and hooking up never to be talked to again or she's out with his buddies and just not paying any attention to him anymore.
That's a really good point. How or where has this type
of behavior become manifested and or who really started it?
The perpetual circle of disrespect seems to not be so gender specific

Using more than all the road!

I try to write concidered and thoughtful message when I am attempting to introduce myslef to a woman that I find attractive on this site and on others, yes I do read the profile, and yes I do respond to what they say in their profiles in my greeting. I get basically no response, maybe the women have just become digusted with men in general and think that we are all the same, but it is hard not to draw the conclusion that I am basically unattractive to women in general and I am better off just excepting that.

Not the Whole Truth but the truth that I can see.
