At what point do you call someone a friend in the lifestyle?

Personally for me I do once you start calling/texting each other to see if you want to go for dinner, shopping, coffee or just to see how they are doing. It doesn't always entail getting together to "play". When something happens in a group of friends and you know someone is having a hard time you call/text them see how they are doing, help them get past the unpleasantness of what is going on and let them know you are there for them.

Several months ago I had something happen that really bothered me and I confronted the person/persons and told them how I felt and told them I felt they were out of line and that what they said and did was hurtful to myself and my boyfriend. So esentially I stood up to them and since that time we have been ostricized from all activities and yet those two people are still very much involved in everything...Odd isnt it how the ones responsible are still "ok" to be around? But the one's hurt in it all are not.

I will also say that the last several months have been very busy with work and travelling, vanilla world functions but through that I still would text/email/call certain "friends" to see how they were doing, they would talk be polite. But out of a large group of friends there were only 5 key people that continued to be what I call "friends". They get invites to parties, dinners etc and keep it very quiet since they know we are not invited and they do not want to hurt us. Sad isnt it that you stand up for yourself and get ostricized.
When you look at you.

Well I hadn't added to my blog in a while and thought that it was about time that I did.

I was reading a post in a group I am in about what you find attractive in other people. Alot of very good things were addressed that I agree with for the most part when I think about what attracts me to men/women.

But my question is:

What do you see as attractive on YOU. Do you see yourself as atractive and no I do not necessarily mean the outer you.

Personally I am very selfconcious so I really had to think about this one. When I look at myself (the outer me) I do not see very much. But when I look inside me ..... personality, deep caring, love, strength, compassion, extemely loyal, personality, reserved (comes across standoffish/snobbish unintentionally) and respectful.

Personally I think too many people go by the outter person and do not give the inner person a chance to be seen or come out. Very sad really.

Let me know what you see in yourselves.

Recently I took a temporary posting at a local hospital. I am enjoying it so much

In order to get to work each morning I am taking the local transit service.

Ok first off I do not particularly enjoy the bus but hey it is alot cheaper than paying $13 a day for parking at the hospital and putting up with the rush hour traffic as well.

Comeon people when a pregnant woman or an elderly person gets on the bus the sign says get off your arse and give them a seat. Dont just sit there and scowl at each other and watch as they stand there and work at balancing themselves as the bus moves down the road to the next stop. And good grief would it hurt you all to smile now and then, the experience is not all that bad lol

I have a friend that drives for the bus service and I have heard her state on more than one occasion that no one is polite anymore. That the drivers are treated so rudely. At first I thought it cant be all that bad...WELL holy crap people these drivers are up at 4 and 5 in the morning to bring US a service we need. Would it really hurt to say good morning and to smile?

Each day since I have started taking the bus and riding it for 48 minutes each way to and from work. I make a point of saying "good morning" "good afternoon" "have a good day" "have a good evening" and guess what!! The drivers on the route I take are getting to know me and now are saying the same thing back to me and SMILING.

The other day I was a bit behind leaving work and was rushing to get to the bus stop. The bus was just getting to the stop when I got to the corner to cross the road. I saw that I was not going to make it so did not rush to get there, as not to hold the bus and the other people up. The bus was driving slowly (which is odd for this driver lol) and then stopped down the road where I was and let me get on. He said to me "I saw you coming" and smiled. I thanked him like crazy and was digging for my bus tickets and he said dont worry about it today and gave me my transfer

If that is the treatment I got from something so simple as smiling and saying a few kind words IMAGINE what kind of society we would have if we were all doing that?

So come on people take the scowls off your faces and show how beautiful you really are and smile

Ok not posting this to get backlash. This is a JOKE. I love my city slicker friends just as much as my redneck friends lol.. Being from redneck country I found this sooo funny.

Listen up City Slickers!

1. Pull your droopy pants up & wear a belt. You look like an idiot.

2. Turn your cap around right, your head isn't crooked.

3. Let's get this straight; it's called a 'gravel road.' I drive a pickup truck because I want to. No matter how slow you drive, you're going to get dust on your Lexus. Drive it or get out of the way.

4. They are cattle. They're live walking steaks & roasts. That's why they smell funny to you. But they smell like money to us. Get over it. Don't like it? Hwy 401 goes east and west, Hwy 6/10 goes north and south. Pick one.

5. So you have a $60,000 car. We're impressed. We have $150,000 combines and hay balers that are driven only 3 weeks a year.

6. So every person in Rural Ontario waves. It's called being friendly. Try to understand the concept.

7. If that cell phone rings while an 8-point buck and 3 does are coming out of the woods, we WILL shoot it out of your hand. You better hope you don't have it up to your ear at the time.

8. Yeah, we eat biscuits & gravy, beans & cornbread. You really want sushi & caviar? It's available & far cheaper at the corner bait shop.

9. The 'Opener' refers to the first day of deer season. It's a religious holiday held the closest Saturday to the first of November.

10. We open doors for women. That is applied to all women, regardless of age.

11. No, there's no 'vegetarian special' on the menu. We order steak. You can order the Chef's Salad and pick off the ham & turkey, but don't be a cry baby

12. When we set a table, there are three main dishes: meats, vegetables, and breads. We use three spices: salt, pepper, and ketchup.

13. If you bring 'coke' into my house, it better be brown, wet and served over ice.

14. You bring 'Mary Jane' into my house, she better know how to shoot, drive a truck, muck out a barn and have long hair.

15. OHL and Minor Hockey is as important here as the Leafs and Habs, and more fun to watch.

16. Yeah, we have golf courses. But don't hit the water hazards -- it spooks the fish.

17.. Colleges? We have them all over. We have Universities and Community Colleges, They come outta there with an education plus a love for God and country, and they still wave at everybody when they come home for the holidays.

18. We have a whole ton of folks in the Canadian Forces. So don't mess with us. If you do, you'll get an ass whippen by the best.

19. Turn down that blasted car stereo! That thumpity-thump-thump crap ain't music, anyway. We don't want to hear it anymore than we want to see your boxer shorts. Refer back to #1.

20. 2 inches of ice isn't a blizzard - it's a vacation. Drive like you got some sense in your head, and DON'T take all our bread, milk, and bleach from the grocery stores. This ain't Alaska , worst case scenario is you may have to live a whole day without croissants.

21. The pickups with snow blades and Tractors with Snow Blowers will have you out the next day.

A fireman was polishing his fire engine outside the fire station when he noticed a pretty little girl next door sitting in a little red cart with little ladders hung on the side and a garden hose tightly coiled in the bottom.

The little girl was wearing a fireman's red, helmet and had tied the cart to a and a cat. The firefighter walked over to take a closer look.
"That's a lovely fire engine," he said admiringly.

"Thanks," said the little girl.

The fireman looked closer and noticed that the little girl had tied one of the carts strings to the dog's collar and the other to the cat's testicles.

"Little colleague," said the firefighter. "I don't want to tell you how to run your fire engine, but if you were to tie that rope around the cat's collar, I think you could probably go a lot faster."

A puzzled frown creased the little girl's pretty face for a moment. She looked at the wagon, at the and at the cat and then shyly looked into the fireman's eyes and said: "You're probably right, but then I wouldn't have a fucking siren, would I?"

We have been in the lifestyle for a few years now and then left for a short time to deal with personal matters. We came back to the site in late February. One of the things that seems to keep standing out to us is the lack of respect and descretion in some matters.

I guess my first why would be:

Why is it that when it has been brought to your attention that you were out of line, did not follow the No means NO rule, or that you have offended someone, a person can't just seem to say ... oh no I am so sorry I did that I never intended to hurt or offend you in any way. Own up to what you did and show that you really mean it. Don't turn around and add posts to topics or other blogs saying and doing the opposite thing. Or analize a valid beef someone has to death and twist things around to mean something totally different trying to make yourself actually look like you were in the right for what you did, when you arent.

Why is it that some people feel the need to boast that they were at a gathering where there was mild flirting but make it sound like it was ALOT more than it really was? Does this make you feel cool? Have you ever thought that possibly you are making yourself look like an idiot? Where is the descretion in boasting about what happened at an event or who was doing what with someone else? Who gave you the right to blab to others who was with who and what they did or did not do?

Why does there seem to be the lack of respect for each other now? It used to be that when you saw someone was interested in another person/couple you gave them room to see if it was going to go further you didnt go push your way into the mix, ultimately ending what was already in progress so you could move the attention to yourself. Are you so insecure in your abilities to attract someone that you need to take over another attraction already in progress?

I guess those are the main things bugging me right now. Some of which I have been on the recieving end off others I have seen friends deal with. I just find it sad how people just do not seem happy lately unless they are stirring up trouble. The lifestyle can be very difficult at times and if you have a partner it means constant talking and being open with each other. But when you have other people in the lifestyle not respecting the boundaries or the rules it really makes a person wonder do you really need this in your life?

I know it takes all kinds to make the world go round but good lord some people need to take a step back and take a look at what they are doing and how they are making others feel and care less about themselves. The lifestyle aside we are still human and have feelings that get hurt.

Just my thoughts/feelings on the things that have been bothering me lately. NOT directed anyone or anything in particular going on.
