Interesting stuff. I'm competitive but I hated team sports. Give me a sport where I can make it happen on my own. Is that bad? A band.. that was the best yeah sport I was ever on! 👍 Reading profiles? Sure.... why not! lol 😂 A lot of interesting ones out there... I look at the distance first.... Not into traveling about. This is an interesting way to look at it. However, it is well known that this site has many more men than women. So the men are forced to be competitive just to get the attraction of someone they are interested in. I agree with you about finding out what their interests are, hobbies, likes and dislikes are and focus on that. I wouldn't call it being competitive if you are interested in someone then show it by finding out what interests they have and go from there. It's been a long time I hope all is well with you. i have always been a very competitive no matter what...i use to tell my kids 2 things: 1 second is the first loser and don't say you cant do something, when you have not tried....so yes make that extra effort someone will notice and you will be rewarded...

For every NO I turned into a YES because of my efforts or being thoughtful enough to change their minds gave me a lesson...….. They said no for a reason..... I should have listened better! the chaos and drama that followed was NEVER worth changing their mind The Hubby

As an athlete and business owner, I also have *competitiveness* in my DNA. I can absolutely testify to the adrenalized *thrill* of competition and how it elevates us to next-level energy and focus. One of the take-aways that informs my approach to Life, including building friendships in this community, has been to NOT view competition as a strictly "I win, you lose" proposition. This is not to say "winning" is irrelevant and/or nonessential- because it most assuredly is- at some level (even if there is purpose but no meaning). And- no matter how cleverly we try to disguise it- a lot of Life is about winning and losing. Mostly losing. The essence of my competitive spirit is in finding JOY (no pun intended ) in competitive engagement, in the thrill of the hunt. As I participate in the AdultFriendFinder community, I ignore the apparent imbalance in female/male population. And I am not dispirited when my outreaches are ignored or rejected. Instead, I take comfort in having projected the most authentic version of myself I could muster and hope that in this process I have learned a little bit more about myself and (by closely reading profiles, blogposts and other interactions) someone else. If you are not enjoying the journey, it's unlikely you will be *competitive*.

Hello Joy. I would say your right no still means no! Some don't get that. Everyone should read profiles before they try to contact someone on here or another site they are on. It worked good for me. Yes it works for men please read profiles. Yes I do zero in on their likes dose help. Sometimes men don't put much on profiles. Butch
