I have seen the love of my life. Or at least my "severely lust after for now" and I don't think it's going to go away anytime soon.
Meet: The One... sadly in photo only, as he's illusive. Two online stores returned my money after discovering they were out of stock. And one said it looks like it's in stock but check with their supplier first as they were a 3rd party, and their supplier was out of stock too (I did not hand over money that time).
This the style, and this the color... Hope the image shows how shimmery and "alive" it looks.

If any of my readers are musicians, or love exploring shops, or somehow just happen to stumble across a music store and think to check it out ... please help me find my doumbek.
The drum head doesn't have to be skyndeep (a synthetic fishskin head) as I can buy a skyndeep drum head separately. But it has the sound and feel I love best. I have played other drum types in stores with that type head ... the sound is amazing. And I've found other doumbeks in different styles to know I really truly wish to play... but also really, truly want THIS style... and for the sake of love and lust: THIS color.
Doumbeks also sometimes go by the name Darbuka or Tabla.

The sad thing about being away from this site for so long, is coming back and discovering how many others have left as well. I know, I'm one of those that "disappeared" thus really have no right to complain. I just scrolled through the list of my favorite bloggers. Some haven't posted since 2013 (technically I knew they left the site and we're friends elsewhere), some stopped posting soon after i stopped posting. Total coincidence - they didn't leave because of me.
On the other hand there are wonderful new bloggers to follow! And a few friendly old bloggers are still around.
The more things change, the more they stay the same, life goes on, and all that. 
Hope everyone is having a great Saturday night! Or Sunday morning (it's 30 minutes till midnight here).

Travel Tips (aka: lessons learned) :
1. Less clothes, more condoms
2. Stop shorting myself. Allow time for a vacation, and use all of the time.
3. Plus one extra day at home to recoup after said vacation.
4. Plan sooner, and double check dates before buying tickets.
5. Remember: it's possible to change flight dates. May cost a little or a lot more, but still possible.
6. Plan extra time for travel. Because things go wrong.
What could have been an epic 7 day vacation was booked for only 3.5 (see #'s 2, 3, 4) then I essentially lost a day (see #6). Had I thought of it in time i could have fixed it (#5).
That said - the few days of vacation were beautiful.
I'm torn between regret at all the mistakes I made planning my trip, and the thought that I should just rejoice in the beauty and wonder of the few days i did have.
It's like ordering your favorite dessert but only being allowed one bite.
I'm notorious for planning the bare minimum of vacation time for so many reasons, and it's not fair to myself, and it's not fair to anybody i may be visiting or traveling with. So #'s 2-6 are being stuck on the fridge or something so I'll be reminded.
Do you have any travel tips to share? I love traveling, but, yeah - I obviously need help haha

Last week i turned 42. An entire year of looking forward to the day. Until two weeks before and suddenly i dreaded it. And yep - friends were right. I didn't suddenly wake up with all the answers as i secretly wished.
My employer gave me a raise effective day before my bday.
Pon Farr. My slumbering libido has decided it wants to wake up and party.
In two weeks I'm driving to Utah to participate in a 10k walk. And to explore that section of the world.
42: off to an interesting start!

Is there a term for being sexually excited by musical instruments?
a few months ago i realized the feeling i got when talking about drumming was a bit similar to sexual attraction. And I'd much rather be drumming than filling out another online profile.
I've owned a guitar since high school (my uncle gave me his old one) but it was only ever played by guests. Now it no longer holds a tune and repairs aren't worth it. So Saturday my dad (musician and band manager) went with me to the pawn shops to check out guitars.
"Find one you think is pretty. Find one you like the feel of. Once you've got that down we'll narrow it from there"
Second pawn shop, maybe 10th we tried out. She's less dramatic looking than most, a little understated. But once I heard her tone - she was the most beautiful guitar or of all we looked at. Dad agreed. I just returned home from buying her... she still needs a name

When i logged in a few minutes ago i had words to say. Cool words. Great words. The best!
Well... they were words at any rate.
But first i checked email. Some guy chewed me out and called me all the names in the book and I'm the worst possible person for cheating on him while trolling for guys on this site. Except I've no idea who he is and I've never been named Molly in my life. At first i laughed - but it's not funny. Albeit misdirected, his pain is real.
My great and wonderful words are now forgotten.
but... Please. If given the choice - chose life. If you screw up your life and fell you're stuck in hell and keep hurting those you love and when thinking of options - please don't make suicide one of them.
Tonight I'm burdened with the weight of somebody i used to know and love being... potentially suicidal. "The river is nearby". I asked him to live. He said maybe.

Last night was a bit intense.
I've recently begun wearing my hair down vs in a bun. I visited my apartment manager yesterday and after i left she texted me how very pretty i looked with my hair down. The feel good stuck with me. When i went to an outdoor movie i noticed a few men look at me and smile such that it warmed me up a bit. Then there was the man i sat next to.
He looked at me and smiled as i walked into the seating area. So i asked if i could sit next to him. We didn't talk much but i swear he kept sneaking peaks all night. Our eyes met a few times. And when the movie was over he looked into my eyes and we smiled at one another.
Looking and smiling is all that happened. But i was a sexually frustrated mess when i drove home. The movie was good, but i was so aware of the man beside me.
This is not quite what i planned to write last night. But i had to relieve frustrations then fell asleep from exhaustion (it was well after midnight). It could well be that i misread his smiles and glances. But they still fueled fantasies
