The VA recently announced it was streamlinging the procedure for veterans of the Vietnam war who were exposed to agent orange...
It only took 40+ years to do this....
And you want these same people in charge of healthcare for ALL Americans?
They can't take care of the 10% that are veterans....

The Funeral Procession

A man was leaving a convenience store with his morning coffee when he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery.
A long black hearse was followed by a second long black hearse about 50 feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary man walking a on a leash. Behind him, a short distance back, were about 80 men walking single file.
The man couldn't stand the curiosity. He respectfully approached the man walking the and said, "I am so sorry for your loss and this may be a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?"
"My wife's." ''What happened to her?"
The man replied, "My attacked and killed her"
He inquired further, "But who is in the second hearse?"
The man answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my wife when the turned on her." A poignant and thoughtful moment of silence passed between the two men.
"Can I borrow the dog?"
The man replied, "Get in line."

Go to the HHS site, run by our government and look for the report, 'Overview of the Uninsured in the United States: An analysis of the 2005 current population survey.'
This is the report that is often used by the left to 'prove' we need to scrap the system we currently have and start fresh with a new government run program.
Do some math with it, the 46 million or so begins to dwindle almost immediately, the best I can figure, there's about 9 million people who are without and cannot afford it and are not eligible for the current assistance programs....
So, for about 9 million people, they want to fuck up the system that works for the other 300 million?

So it is that time, time to reflect on the previous year, time to see where you went compared to where you wanted to go, etc.
Me, I just say, 'FOK IT!'
I had no goals, no aspirations (aside from being President of the World) and that makes it so my year is a success.
I remained sober another year, Christmas Eve is my sobriety date, so now I have 11 years...What an amazing thing to me...Never went more than a day or two before that fateful Christmas Eve....
Anyway...
How did your year turn out?
Are you where you thought you'd be?
Did you accomplish what you set out to do this year?

I was reading my good friend wondumfok 's blog I and it dawned on me....
So much religion spreads in our government, lives, etc and we don't even realize it...
Why do people get married? Because the church said so.
Why do people think they should be monogomous? Because the church says so.
Why do we not marry cousins? Because the church says so.
Wait a minute, I know what you're thinking, 'If you married a cousin, you'd have retarded or deformed !'
Not true, look to the Amish, African tribal communities, Amazonian tribal communities, etc. they all marry cousins.
In addition, if you look through history, cousin marriage was outlawed LONG before we had any clue about genetics.
Now, you may want to know, 'Why would a church not want you to marry a cousin?'
Here's the reason:
Back in the Middle Ages, the Catholic Church used the passage in the Bible about the camel through the eye of a needle to claim that one could not get to heaven if they had any worldly possessions, so before someone would die, they had to give everything to the church someone else.
When cousins married, it made it quite easy to 'keep it in the family,' so to speak when it came to wordly goods. The two cousins would give their goods, land, etc to someone within the family, keeping it close to themselves, not to the church.
The church was missing out on this bountiful bevvy of goods, so they decreed that cousin marriage was a sin or abomination to God.
Now, when people married, the families would be fractured. The church would be the only entity worthy of giving your worldly possessions to, and the church began to amass wealth beyong compare.
A side note, what's the most wealthy organization in the world?
The Catholic Church...They own most of the 'great works' of art, they were commisioned to tell the stories of the Bible to those who couldn't read them, which was the majority. They inherited all the lands, 10% tithes of all the members, etc.
Pretty scary, huh?
Another side note, there was only one US President who was Catholic, who was it?
JFK...It frightened many people, the Pope's word is law to Catholics, and many were afraid that it would be the Pope, not Kennedy who would be President.
Odd what you learn in history, isn't it?

So, here's my day...
12 people coming over, wake up at 5 am to begin cooking...
Spend all day cooking, plus some time the night before..
Fry 2 turkeys, homemade pies, stuffing, taters, etc...
All the food is done aside from biscuits...
GF is gonna make them, so I decide to shower at 4 pm...
Come out of shower, she's in the bathroom holding TP on her fingers...
Let me see it...
Blood all over the place...
DAMMIT!!!! Stiches...
Off to the ER...
Leaving a great friend shy_gal1970 in charge of the house and all....
Some folks left...
Some arrived late...
Get 5 stiches....
Home...
Leave at 11 pm to shop...
Shop until 12 noon...
Off to work in Crystal River...
Finally to bed at 10 pm on Friday....
