lol ! I only brought it to your attention because your post was in reference to nature and the birds. As far as music goes, my taste does cross the metal genre but not limited to just that music. My first concert was Black Sabbath w/Ozzy "78" and been to a few Ozz fests. Sooo, yes I follow you on the music thing. Most of the concerts in the past have been in the Rock genre not so much the head banging metal stuff, but I do like Metallica, Godsmack and Alice in chains to name a few.

Well, that's cool. I LOVE Metallica! We just saw Jackyl and Steel Panther the end of last year. They were awesome!! I will admit, the hardcore metal isn't for me all the time - I love the Glam Metal. And, since one of my jobs is at a religious institution, I sneak in Rock on the pipe organ all the time. Last year on Mother's Day, I played Ozzy's "Mama, I'm Coming Home". The people loved it! hahahahaha

I do apologize, there are actually a few different videos pertaining to that song. There was one I was actually looking at was from bling.com not youtube. The one I had on had the birds so I decided to see if it was on YouTube but that particular one was not unfortunately. Still a great tune. 😊

I looked for it on YouTube, and was confused. Haha - that's why! Well, I'm an 80's Hairband girl, so I wasn't crazy about the song, sorry. That sure wasn't Heavy Metal.

The rock should be large enough to fill most of the surface that attracts the birds. It does not have to be sharp sharp, but humped enough so that building a nest is difficult. Since you will be under it at times, maybe wire it so it will not fall. Or a wood pyramid?

I was a hotel manager at a year round beach resort. The center section had 3 stories of ten rooms each. Some purple finches decided to build nests on top of every single light fixture outside of all ten rooms. The guests loved it and the momma birds let people get really close to the babies when they fledged
PS: Lovely flowers!!

Every fixture?? Wow. I bet that was a sight to see. I have yellow finches, never saw a purple one.

Oh yea you got to spend time with your kids and your little guy. What beautiful flowers you got there. You know birds are very protective over their nests, just like us moms are over our kiddos. I hope you have a great Monday hun..

Just your average every day run of the mill nana here!!!

Dang I have never seen a nest in the grass like that or a wood pile, I have several starlings building in the barn, and some barn swallows, I will find a few killdeers out in the field, but they seem to avoid my driveway which is over a quarter mile long. Have a great day and enjoy the weather.

I had never seen that before either! Starlings! That's what I was trying to think of. They love to swoop and dive bomb us. It sounds nicer by you than it is here. Been cool and cloudy all day.

Sometimes a pointed rock placed where birds build nests will be enough to stop them from continuing to do so. Another alternative might fastening mesh wire to the rafters that span the light fixture. Maybe block the space between rafters above and below the light so that it does not require a large amount of mesh.

We've done the wire mesh before, but I've never heard of using a pointed rock. Hmmmm…
