Woohoo!!!! Weekend!!!!

I'm working 1 day a week now, Monday, so today at 3:30pm my weekend began. And I am sick of this. Since this started back in early March I went from working every 2 days, to working every 3 days to 1 day a week AND I've managed to put on 10 lbs. I walk so much at work IT was my exercise, now I've had to start walking the hood again.

The rest of my life has been watching TV, endless Covid reports, Netflix, or Free TV. That's right. Got me a good ol' fashion antenna and got about 60 something free channels. Half are in Spanish, another good amount are shopping channels and then there are some oldie channels that I like to watch. Reruns of That 70s Show, According To Jim, and Home Improvement.

The funniest show I've seen is Father Knows Best, that show has had me spitting coffee and reaching for the remote so I can wind it back and see what I missed while I was trying to clear my morning Java from my sinus, then I remember, Free TV has no rewind, no pause, no control. I feel as if I'm at their mercy, which I am.

Other than that, not much to report. The lawn is mowed, dishes are done, the puffables are getting puffed even as I write this, and life crawls along ever so slowly. So, what do y'all do to pass the time?

I've been working overtime. Yup. I'm one of the "essential" workers and we've been swamped with work so I'm there from 6am to 4pm.

Father Knows Best? Now THERE'S a classic I haven't seen in ages. And it WAS funny.

I'm still pretty busy, as I work from home. My escape (besides blowing time on this site), is my car.
Open roads... absolutely no traffic... - at any time of day or night. A decent sound system to vibrate my brain cells... and... voilà! ❗
I'm like a kid in the candy store, with all the free space I have.
It's one of the positive things to come outta this whole thing.
True, about walking though. I'm on a mission to walk more. Thanks for the reminder! 👍

Are there still shopping channels on TV? Never could stand to watch those for long. All I have is the antenna TV hooked up here. Though my son did get cable so he could have a faster internet and more channels to watch. But I haven't been interested in hooking the cable up to my TV's. I have used his internet though when mine went down now and then.

I like watching Gunsmoke and Bananza and the twilight zone and that 70's show and the others you mentioned sometimes. I've seen most of the Bananza shows when I was a kid and some of the Gunsmoke and Twilight zone shows. The rest are mostly new to me with a few exceptions. Beaver Cleaver getting into trouble and Dennis The Mennis. I've been watching Gilligans Island at times. I remember some of those too. I still like Marianne. Then I get bored and watch Netflix or YouTube. Was watching Robin Williams and George Carlin and Richard Pryor lately. There was a guy I was watching today that you might like. I will see if I can find him and get back to you he had a good show about kids.

Search for "Christopher Titus, Born With A Defect" if you haven't seen it yet I'm pretty sure you will like it. On YouTube.

We are on such a minimal crew that it took me a while to think up a new routine just to fill that 1 day a week.

I kinda feel like I'm missing something. The virus hasn't really effected things in the valley I'm in. There have been a total of 75-ish cases. Traffic is a bit less and the drive thru bank thing is different. The biggest change seems to be everyone is dressed to rob where ever I go. But why rob a Home Depot?

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

There's ton of the really old shows from the 50s and 60s and they're all kind of lame because of how TV and people have changed, but Father Knows Best still has me laughing so hard, such a timeless classic. Keep on Truckin'!

I'll look for it, I used to love the show "Titus". Stacy Keach was excellent on that!

I saw an old western with Kirk Douglas when he was nearly 50 yrs old, running around and jumping like he was 20. It's no wonder he lived so long.

Right??? The meals have become the most exciting part of my day and I'm doing the same. I never just throw something together real quick, most are quite extravagant. That's French for "high calorie".

I'm still working every day, as well. I miss going to the gym and find myself shut in my office or my apartment most of the time... I've totally got the quarantine -15 going on. Good lord.... I already struggled with weight issues anyway to begin with.

Right? I needed work to keep my weight under control. I've learned that if I ever retire I'll probably be dead in 6 months.

Had I known I would have started walking on day 1, now with the added weight I get winded so fast it wears me out and limits my distance. It's gonna be a hard road back without work to consume my time. I need routine.

I need to make a list, but never checking off the "sex" memo would be depressing.

Knitting and podcasts, knitting and Netflix, reading, some walking but not enough! Because I have also started a cookie baking habit.

I don’t seem to be gaining weight but definitely getting more out of shape as time without the gym goes on.

Remember when we thought a 6 day weekend was the dream?

How am I passing the time?
I'm on track to finish the embroidery project I started 11 years ago.
I re-read a 14 book series on vampires.
I swept out the garage with a kitchen broom.
I washed my vacuum.
I'm on level 4,447 of Cookie Jam.
I'm not too worried about weight gain. When you're already fat, a couple pounds don't matter. Besides, I lost 15 pounds when I retired so I figure I've got some cushion.

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

I would estimate walking 5-6 miles a day on a normal work day and now I struggle to walk 1 in my neighborhood. I got winded walking down 1/2 a hallway yesterday. This sucks.

I looked forward to retirement in the coming years, but now I realize, without a solid plan in place, I'll be dead within 6 months of said day.

Stepping on the scales is the 1st thing I do and the low point of my day, but I've gotta do it. I was trending downward until a month ago. I should have been very close to my target weight by now.

Well, that exercise shows! I've been enjoying looking at all that hard work you've been doing. 250 squats?????? mmmmmm that could come in handy!!!! How about some thrusts? >>! I just got emailed tonight that I'm back on full time starting Monday so I'll get my exercise routine back real quick. I've enjoyed talking with you today.
